According to Ria Novosti, former CIA analyst Larry Johnson said that NATO has failed in the conflict in Ukraine, and now faces a "dismal future".

"I don't think NATO has a future. They're not going to be able to do anything to prevent or end the conflict... And we have to take into account the fact that Ukraine actually has the second largest army in the alliance, after the US, followed by Türkiye," said former CIA analyst Larry Johnson.

Still, the conflict is a failure for the West, according to Mr. Johnson. And no one in the West wants to be associated with the cause of the loss. So "they will quickly start to 'hang up' to distance themselves from Ukraine," the former CIA analyst said.

In addition, according to a commentary on the 19FortyFive website, the conflict in Ukraine shows not only that modern warfare has changed, but also the complete failure of NATO's tactics in the new conditions.

According to NATO military doctrine, the alliance’s offensives are usually based on combined arms operations, in which military vehicles such as tanks and armored vehicles, supported by air power and artillery, penetrate enemy defenses. However, this tactic has not been effective in Ukraine. Attempts by the Ukrainian Armed Forces to launch offensives using large-scale armored units have met with heavy losses.

In fact, NATO’s textbook attacks often emphasize the highest level of coordination, something that even the alliance’s own armies have spent years developing. Meanwhile, Ukraine’s troops have only recently been mobilized, or have only been trained for a short time. So they lack both time and combat experience./.
