Highlights of 12 seasons of 'Golden Moments'
(Baonghean.vn) - To date, the "Golden Moment" Photojournalism and Video Clip Contest organized by Nghe An Newspaper has entered its 12th year, leaving many imprints on the photography and journalism communities.
Special moments
On the evening of September 7th, Vietnam Airlines' special flight VN1718 was delayed by 11 minutes to transport five doctors and a donor liver from Nghe An Friendship General Hospital to Hanoi. This was the first time Nghe An Friendship General Hospital had performed an organ transplant from a brain-dead donor. Every moment of that crucial surgery is unforgettable for photographer Tu Thanh (from the Health & Life newspaper) in his journalistic career.

"Every event in the operating room happened so quickly, and every moment was incredibly moving for me, because it was from here that other unfortunate lives were reborn," shared photographer Tu Thanh.
For the team of authors Huy Nham, Le Thang, Phan Giang, and Le Thanh from the Quy Hop District Cultural, Sports, and Communication Center, capturing the valuable footage for their work "The Death of the Nam Ton River" was a long process. It involved many days of collaboration with the inter-agency team of the Quy Hop District People's Committee to conduct on-site inspections at the discharge points of tin mining enterprises operating along the length of the Nam Ton River. It also included sleepless nights pondering the question from the people of Quy Hop town: why has this once peaceful river become a "dead river"?
Reporter Phan Giang, representing the group of authors, stated: "As a hot topic in the area, to document the images of businesses discharging untreated waste into the environment, we collected numerous sources of information, including many images recorded by local collaborators and residents. Through this work, we hope to reflect the reality of the 'suffocation' of the Nam Ton River, thereby contributing to helping authorities promptly detect and strictly handle violations."

These are just two of the more than 1,000 photos and video clips submitted to the 12th "Golden Moment" Photo and Video Contest. Each submitted work contains stories, special moments, and reflects the thoughts, struggles, and creativity of reporters, contributors, and photographers.
