She travels over 25km of mountain road to the remote school to pick up students on time. For the past 3 years, the remote school where she teaches has started implementing a boarding model. Students bring lunch prepared by their parents at home to school so they can stay at school for lunch. "Before, when we didn't study at a boarding school, it was very difficult for the children to come back at noon. Now, the children have a spacious school and a place to rest at school, so their parents can rest assured when they go to work in the fields," Ms. Pay shared.Teacher Lau Y Pay grew up in Dooc May commune - Ky Son district, but fate brought her to the students of Tri Le commune, Que Phong district. For more than 10 years, she has volunteered to go to remote schools to encourage students to go to school. Ms. Pay shared that every day, going back and forth on a mountain road of more than 50 km is really arduous and difficult. But she is Mong, understands the customs of her people, knows the language of the local people, so she must be a pioneer, ready to accept the task in the difficult area. Photo: Tien HungOver the years, she has not only done a good job of mobilizing students to go to school, but has also been a representative of the Commune People's Council to listen to the voices of the villagers. But because of their love for the profession and the progress of their students, teacher Pay and her colleagues are always creative and innovative in teaching and learning to have interesting lessons. Photo: Tien HungWith many efforts, this school year, teacher Lau Y Pay was recognized as a National Outstanding Teacher by the Ministry of Education and Training. This is not only an honor for her and the school, but also for the Education sector of Nghe An. The fact that a teacher in a remote area is recognized will also be a motivation for teachers working in difficult areas to rise up and overcome difficulties to complete their tasks. Photo: My HaAs for teacher Phan Thi Quynh, a teacher at Chau Tien Kindergarten - Quy Chau, she overcame difficult circumstances and successfully completed her career of educating people. 3 years ago, teacher Quynh's husband, Captain Sam Quoc Nghia, unexpectedly died while on duty. The pain was too great, but because of her love for the profession, she got up. In that same school year, teacher Quynh still participated in the district's Excellent Teacher Competition and won a prize. Photo: Tien Hung“The pain was so great that for a long time, many nights I just hugged my child and cried. But when I went to school, I had to hold back everything to do my job well. I did not want to let down my husband who had died for the peace of the Fatherland,” said teacher Phan Thi Quynh. Over the years, despite having to travel a long distance every day and raising a small child alone, she has constantly tried and risen up. In 2023, Ms. Quynh was one of 80 outstanding female teachers honored as a Female Teacher Overcoming Difficulties by the Provincial Labor Federation. In addition to teaching at school, she often goes to the dormitory in the evening to help the children with their homework. "The children at home, grades 1 and 2, are taken care of by their parents. When they come here, I feel very sorry for them and want to share with them like a second mother," Ms. Hong added. Her situation is very difficult, she is raising two children by herself, the eldest of whom is studying at university in Hanoi. However, it is these difficulties that help her to be strong enough to overcome herself.
