Young man receives indefinite sentence for large amount of drugs
(Baonghean.vn) - For profit, Hoa bought a large quantity of drugs from Laos to sell in Vietnam. While trading a large quantity of drugs in a hotel, Hoa was caught red-handed by the police.
On November 22, the People's Court of Nghe An province opened a first-instance criminal trial against Nguyen Tien Hoa (born 1987), residing in Tay Son town, Huong Son district, Ha Tinh province, for the crime of illegal drug trafficking.
According to the case file, in 2020, Nguyen Tien Hoa worked in Laos and met two men named Tu and Tua (unknown background and address). Hoa knew Tua had drugs to sell, so they exchanged phone numbers to contact each other. On June 27, Tua called Hoa and said someone in Vietnam wanted to buy drugs. A while later, that customer called Hoa to order two heroin cakes and 30 packages of pink meth.
Having a customer order, Hoa called Tu to order 2 heroin cakes for 8,000 USD and 30 packages.pink sheetprice 80 million VND. Tu made an appointment with Hoa to deliver drugs in Son Kim commune, Huong Son district (Ha Tinh). Then, Hoa called the buyer and agreed on 2 heroin cakes for 350 million VND and 30 pink packages for 120 million VND. On the evening of June 30, Hoa went to get the drugs from Tu and brought them home to keep.
At 5:00 a.m. on July 1, Hoa took the drug by bus to Vinh city to deliver it to the customer. At 7:10 a.m. the same day, Hoa met the man at the gate of Nghe An General Hospital and then got in a car to a hotel in the area to deliver the drug. While Hoa and the man were trading drugs, Nghe An police raided and caught them red-handed with a total amount of 1,256.7 grams of drugs. Taking advantage of the gap, the man accompanying Hoa ran out into the hallway and jumped onto the street to escape.
At the trial, Hoa sincerely admitted his crime. Hoa asked the jury to reduce his sentence so that he could have a chance to start his life over and take care of his elderly mother.
Considering the case as a whole, the Trial Panel sentenced defendant Nguyen Tien Hoa to life in prison for the crime of illegal drug trafficking.
