(Baonghean.vn)- The Washington Post quoted anonymous US officials as saying that within President Joe Biden's administration there is a division into two factions regarding views on the Palestine-Israel conflict.

According to the newspaper, nearly 20 White House officials, out of concern, requested a meeting with President Biden's advisers in early November to learn about the US government's plan to reduce civilian casualties in the Gaza Strip as the conflict escalated.

The previously unreported meeting of officials underscores how President Biden’s handling of the biggest foreign policy crisis of his presidency is causing divisions in a White House that has prided itself on operating in a disciplined and cohesive manner, the Washington Post wrote.

The article stressed that the conflict in the Gaza Strip has worried the US administration more than any other issue during the three years of Mr. Biden's administration. Previously, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken admitted that there were disagreements within the State Department over the Biden administration's approach to the conflict between Israel and Hamas. He said that special forums are being held in Washington to discuss the above disagreements and "frank discussions" are taking place at US missions around the world to receive "feedback and ideas".

US State Department officials also signed a letter asking the White House to reconsider its approach to the Palestinian-Israeli conflict and accusing Mr. Biden of spreading misinformation about what is happening./.
