Because he didn't have the money to pay the person who "played the game," Mr. NV Ch. went to the police station to report that he had been hypnotized and lost nearly 170 million VND and his phone.

Accordingly, due to lack of money to pay for "gambling," on November 24th, Mr. NV Ch. (born in 1963), residing in Noi Xuan village, Mai Trung commune, Hiep Hoa district, went to the Mai Trung commune police station to report being hypnotized at his home and having his Oppo mobile phone, 8 million VND in cash from his wallet, and 160 million VND hidden under the mattress in his bedroom stolen.
Immediately after receiving the report, the Mai Trung commune police dispatched forces to the scene and coordinated with the Criminal Police Team of Hiep Hoa district police to verify the information according to regulations.
By 4 PM on November 26th, the Criminal Investigation Team and the Mai Trung Commune Police had jointly clarified that the incident described in Mr. Ch.'s report did not occur.
At the police station, Mr. NVCh. admitted to making false statements, stating that he was the owner of five "gambling rings," and that on the morning of November 24th, he was supposed to pay the gambling money to two people. However, due to debt, he had used the money the players had paid him to settle his debts, and therefore did not have the money to pay them by the deadline.
Mr. Ch. went online and read articles about victims being drugged and losing their belongings. He then filed a false report using similar methods and tactics to the police to delay paying the neighborhood tax.
The police have now opened a case to take strict action against Mr. NVCh for the act of providing false information. This act significantly affects the normal functioning of competent state agencies, disrupts information flow, and causes public confusion.
