China calls for convening peace conference to resolve Palestine-Israel conflict
(Baonghean.vn) - The Chinese Foreign Ministry released a five-point document expressing the country's stance on resolving the Palestine-Israel conflict.
In a document posted on the official website of the Chinese Foreign Ministry, Beijing called for an immediate end to hostilities, the protection of civilians, and a return to the “Two States for Two Peoples” plan, establishing an independent Palestinian state on the basis of the borders determined in 1967 with its capital in East Jerusalem.
In the first point of the plan, the Chinese side stressed the need to comprehensively cease hostilities and end the war, noting that the conflicting parties must immediately establish a firm and lasting humanitarian ceasefire.
Second, Beijing called for effective protection of civilians, stating that violations of international humanitarian law and any violent attacks against civilians and civilian structures must be stopped. It should be noted that the UN Security Council should send a clear signal, opposing the forced displacement of Palestinian civilians and calling for the prompt release of all civilians and hostages.
The third point is on the issue of humanitarian aid delivery. The Chinese side stressed that relevant parties should avoid depriving the population in the Gaza Strip of access to essential goods and services, organize humanitarian aid channels in Gaza, and ensure that humanitarian aid is delivered quickly, safely, unhindered and sustainably to prevent an even more serious humanitarian disaster. The UN Security Council should also encourage the international community to prepare assistance for the post-war reconstruction of Gaza.

In the fourth point, China calls for expanding the role of mediation through diplomatic channels. In particular, the document emphasizes that the UN Security Council should attach importance to the role of regional countries and regional organizations, support the mediation efforts of the Secretary-General and the UN Secretariat, encourage countries with influence over the parties concerned to maintain an objective and impartial stance, and jointly play a constructive role in promoting the de-escalation of the crisis.
The final point is to seek a political solution to the conflict. In China's view, the basis for resolving the Palestinian issue is to implement the "Two States for Two Peoples" plan, restore the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, and establish an independent, fully sovereign Palestinian state based on the rights of the Palestinian people, with the 1967 borders and East Jerusalem as its capital.
The Chinese side also called for convening a more authoritative, larger-scale and more effective international peace conference to develop a roadmap and plan for restoring the “two-state solution.” The document specifically stressed that any agreement regarding the future of the Gaza Strip must respect the will and independent choice of the Palestinian people and cannot be imposed.
In the latest developments on the ground, Israel and Hamas announced a ceasefire would continue, but details of any formal agreement remained unclear. Minutes before the ceasefire was set to expire at 12:00 on November 30 (Hanoi time), the Israeli military said the "operational pause" would be extended, without specifying how long.
Meanwhile, Hamas said there was an agreement to "extend the ceasefire for another seventh day" but did not provide further details.
Qatar, which is leading the ceasefire negotiations, confirmed the pause has been extended until Friday, December 1./.
