Tuong Duong district currently has more than 3,700 children whose parents work far away.
(Baonghean.vn) - On December 1, a working delegation from the Ethnic Minorities Committee and the Provincial People's Council surveyed the effectiveness of State management, the quality of human resources, and the impact on children when their parents work far away from ethnic minority areas in Tuong Duong district.
The delegation included Comrade Lo Thi Kim Ngan - Head of the Committee and comrades in the Ethnic Committee, Provincial People's Council.
The purpose of the survey is to assess the implementation and effectiveness of State management, the quality of human resources and the impacts and influences on children when parents work far away (from 2021 to 2023) in ethnic minority and mountainous areas.

From there, detect existing problems, limitations, obstacles, and difficulties; determine the causes and responsibilities of authorities at all levels, agencies, and units in the implementation process, to recommend and propose effective measures and solutions in the coming time.
Currently, Tuong Duong district has a total of 1,846 cadres, civil servants and public employees; the total number of workers in the district in 2023 is more than 64,000 workers. The training and fostering of cadres, civil servants and public employees of ethnic minorities has always received attention and created favorable conditions by the district Party Committee and government.

With the characteristics of a mountainous area, the socio-economic development is still at a low level, and job creation in the locality is still difficult. Currently, there are many workers who go to work far away, mainly as workers in domestic industrial zones, leaving their children at home with grandparents or relatives. The whole district currently has 3,767 children whose parents go to work far away.
The fact that parents go to work far away, leaving their children with grandparents and relatives has had impacts and influences on children's lives. Physically, parents are away from home, and the care for children is not guaranteed, leading to malnutrition in some children. Physically, this will affect children's learning and overall development, such as weak resistance, psychological and learning disorders, and reduced ability to absorb.

Psychologically, not living close to parents will make the image of parents in childhood memories very vague, growing up, children find it difficult to share, confide, as well as listen to the teachings of their parents. Some children may have a closed life or on the contrary, be naughty, hang around, drop out of school due to lack of attention and education, leading to a limited connection and sharing between parents and children.
In addition, without the closeness and guidance of adults, children are easily taken advantage of by bad guys, lured into illegal activities, and there have been many cases of children and minors stealing, using illegal substances, the cause of which comes from the lack of attention from adults...

In Tuong Duong district, the working group conducted a survey in Thach Giam town, grasping the number of commune-level cadres, civil servants, and public employees and the working situation of the units. The town's cadres and civil servants currently have 21 people, most of whom have received basic training, while the part-time cadres often hold concurrent positions.
Thach Giam town currently has 352 children whose parents work far away and have to live with grandparents and relatives. This reality has more or less affected their studies and health care. The local government has taken a number of measures to help, such as connecting with charitable organizations to give gifts, improving the effectiveness of boarding schools in the area to support children in difficult circumstances, etc.

On behalf of the working delegation, Comrade Lo Thi Kim Ngan - Head of the Ethnic Committee, Provincial People's Council requested local leaders to enhance their responsibilities, effectively assign management, leadership and direction, promote the dynamism and creativity of the staff, civil servants and public employees. At the same time, pay more attention to children whose parents work far away...
