According to RT, in an interview with Die Welt (Germany), former German Army officer - Lieutenant General Roland Kater said that the Western media noted the disappearance of "the will to resist President Putin", and stopped expressing "false optimism". According to Lieutenant General Kater, from a military perspective, such optimism is never grounded. Ukraine itself also describes the situation more realistically. Ukraine's next military season is also at risk of failure without new initiatives.

At the beginning of the conversation, Lieutenant General Kater emphasized that not only Germany lacks money and weapons, but also the United States - the largest and most important sponsor of the conflict in Ukraine. There is currently a division among Western allies about the flow of aid to Ukraine. So, according to Lieutenant General Kater, "if at least part of the will to provide aid is lost, what will be the point of opposing President Putin's special military campaign?".

But, according to Lieutenant General Kater, the problem is not just "checks", but there are many reasons behind it. First of all, naturally, the whole world looks to the US, because it is the most important ally, providing the greatest support. But public opinion also looks to Europe, where the collapse of aid is also evident in Hungary, Slovakia or Poland, and possibly in the Netherlands. Lieutenant General Kater believes that the same is happening in Germany, where "the aid mood is no longer clear".

In addition, the Ukrainian leadership is showing signs of discord within itself. The head of the Ukrainian General Staff has clearly described the current situation on the front, which is completely different from before. Or as the Mayor of Kiev Klitschko also called for a realistic assessment of the situation.

"We are showing false optimism here. Moreover, internal sources say that the Ukrainian army is unstable, increasingly tired, and its will to fight is wavering. The ground battles have reached a dead end due to the weather situation. Therefore, now everyone will focus on the spring, so that then there will be new motivation, new enthusiasm, and new breakthrough initiatives. Otherwise, I am afraid that this conflict will fail" - Lieutenant General Roland Kater commented./.
