Nghe An Health Sector organizes the final round of the 2023 Tobacco Harm Prevention Contest

(Baonghean.vn) - Attending the final round of the 2023 Competition to Learn about the Prevention and Control of Tobacco Harms in Nghe An Health Sector, there are 16 teams, with 160 officials, workers, civil servants and employees in the Health Sector.

On the morning of December 9, Nghe An Department of Health held the opening ceremony of the Final Round of the Contest to Learn about Tobacco Harm Prevention and Control in Nghe An Health Sector in 2023.

Attending the contest were comrades: Bui Dinh Long - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Head of the Steering Committee for Tobacco Harm Prevention and Control of Nghe An Province; Nguyen Thi Hong Hoa - Director of the Department of Health; representatives of leaders of departments, branches and sectors in the province.

Implementing the direction of the People's Committee of Nghe An province, on October 10, 2023, the Department of Health of Nghe An province issued Plan No. 3218/KH-SYT on organizing the Contest to Learn about the Prevention and Control of Tobacco Harms in the Health Sector of Nghe An province in 2023. The contest is organized to raise awareness to strictly implement the Law on Prevention and Control of Tobacco Harms; the harmful effects of tobacco on health, economy, environment; awareness of building a smoke-free working environment for cadres, workers, civil servants and employees of the Health Sector of Nghe An province.

Through the contest, the health sector will promote propaganda and improve the capacity of cadres, workers, civil servants and employees in communicating and mobilizing to prevent and combat the harmful effects of tobacco in agencies, families and society; creating opportunities for cadres, workers, civil servants and employees in the sector to exchange and share knowledge and practice on activities to prevent and combat the harmful effects of tobacco.

In October-November 2023, Nghe An Department of Health coordinated with the Trade Union to direct 100% of central units, provincial branches, district medical centers and public and non-public hospitals in the province to organize a dramatization contest in a 2-level sequence. At the cluster level, there were 57/64 participating units, divided into 4 competition clusters. From November 24-26, 4 competition clusters successfully organized the contest and selected 16 best teams to participate in the final competition.

Attending the Final Round of the Competition on Understanding and Preventing the Harmful Effects of Tobacco in Nghe An Health Sector in 2023, there are 16 teams, with 160 officials, workers, civil servants and employees in the health sector. Nghe An Health Sector hopes that: Through the contest, it will create a widespread impact on the harmful effects of tobacco, regulations on prevention and control of the harmful effects of tobacco to medical units, cadres, civil servants, employees, workers in the whole sector and people in the province, contributing to improving the quality of care, protection and improvement of people's health, the task assigned by the Party and State to the Health Sector.
