Speaking at the workshop, Dr. Subhash Goyal - Chairman of the National Committee on Tourism, Aviation and Accommodation Services, Indian Chamber of Commerce (ICC) said: India and ASEAN have signed bilateral trade worth 131.5 billion USD in the financial year 2022-2023. Trade with ASEAN accounts for 11.3% of India's total global trade in the five financial years 2022-2023.

Bilateral economic and trade relations need to be strengthened between India and ASEAN countries to improve strategic relations. Improved relations will not only strengthen the economies of the countries but also benefit sectors in all aspects, ensuring sustainable development.

India, since 2011, has also focused on providing affordable and accessible health insurance to the vulnerable sections of the society. Hence, a potential area of cooperation in the health care sector through public-private partnerships can be explored by the two countries.

Energy is an important sector in Vietnam, where the country is forecasting a 10% to 12% increase in electricity demand each year until 2030. Here, oil and gas exploration deals with Vietnamese companies have great potential. Furthermore, to reduce carbon and greenhouse gas emissions, the country should rely on renewable energy-led guidance.
