(Baonghean.vn) - On December 16, the Vice President and the Ministry of Education and Training held a meeting and honored students who won prizes at the 2023 International Science and Technology Olympiads.

In 2023, Vietnam will have 7 student delegations participating in regional and international Olympics with 36 students participating, including: 1 Informatics delegation participating in the Asia-Pacific Olympics, 1 Physics delegation participating in the Asia Olympics and 5 delegations participating in the international Olympics: Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology, Physics and Informatics.

Vietnamese student delegations have brought home excellent results, all contestants of the participating delegations won prizes, with 8 Gold Medals, 12 Silver Medals, 12 Bronze Medals and 4 Certificates of Merit. Vietnamese student delegations competing in 2023 continue to maintain their achievements in the top 10 countries with the highest results, many students achieved the highest scores.

In 2023, the International Science and Engineering Fair - ISEF 2023 named "REGENERON ISEF 2023" will be held directly in Dallas, USA, from May 14, 2023 to May 19, 2023, with 61 countries/territories participating. The Vietnamese delegation has 7 projects participating in REGENERON ISEF 2023. As a result, 1 project won the official prize of the Competition and 1 project won the special prize awarded by the US Agency for International Development.

The results of the 2023 International Science and Technology Olympiad have affirmed the efforts of students under the guidance of teachers; the timely care, attention and encouragement of parents and organizations for students throughout the learning process. This is also the result of the innovation of the education sector in selecting and training national teams to participate in regional and international Olympic competitions according to the requirements of fundamental and comprehensive innovation in education and training.

Speaking at the meeting on the afternoon of December 16, Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan shared about the nation's tradition of studiousness; the attention of the Party and State to education and training and acknowledged the results of the education sector in recent times.

The Vice President especially praised the education sector for persistently creating conditions for students to demonstrate their talents; praised teachers for their efforts in helping students develop a passion for learning and research; thanked parents for always nurturing, motivating and creating the best conditions for their children to study and strive; praised the determination, enthusiasm and hard work of students in the past time and bringing glory to the Fatherland.

The Vice President hopes that the education sector will continue to implement fundamental and comprehensive innovation in education and training with a clearer roadmap and innovative methods to create peace of mind and consensus for parents, students, and the whole society.

To teachers, the Vice President hopes that teachers will continue to keep the fire burning, pass it on to the next generation of students, and nurture in them a passion for learning, scientific research, and conquering the peak. At the same time, continue to update and innovate teaching content and methods to not only train students to achieve high scores but also become people with the capacity and qualities of an excellent citizen.

For students, the Vice President hopes that they will be confident with this start and continue to strive to conquer the pinnacle of knowledge, hoping that they will develop their abilities today to become the best contributors to the country.

Mai Van Duc, a 12th grade student (2022-2023 school year) at Phan Boi Chau High School for the Gifted, received the Third Class Labor Medal from the President for his achievement of winning the Silver Medal at the 2023 International Chemistry Olympiad.

On the same evening, the Ministry of Education and Training held a meeting and commendation ceremony for students who won prizes in the 2023 International Science and Technology Olympiad.
