Nghe An deploys transportation plan to serve customers during the Lunar New Year

(Baonghean.vn) - In order to proactively serve the need for safe travel during the Lunar New Year 2024, on the morning of December 22, in Vinh City, the Steering Committee for passenger transport during Tet held a meeting to discuss and deploy plans and solutions.

The meeting was chaired by Mr. Nguyen Dinh Khang - Deputy Director of the Department of Transport, Head of the Steering Committee for Passenger Transport Services during Tet. Also attending were representatives of the Provincial Traffic Safety Committee Office, relevant departments and branches, Vinh City Police and bus stations, and passenger transport enterprises.

At the meeting, the representative of the Department of Transport Management, Department of Transport reported the draft plan to organize and deploy passenger transport services during the New Year and Lunar New Year.Spring Festival of Giap Thin 2024Accordingly, transport business units, bus stations, train stations, airports, ferry terminals and functional forces are required, within their authority, to urge and direct the implementation of the proposed plan, ensuring people's convenient travel and a safe and happy New Year.

The Steering Committee requires passenger transport companies to regularly inspect, maintain and repair vehicles to ensure safety requirements, improve the quality of transport services and environmental sanitation before participating in traffic; bus stations, Vinh train station,Vinh International AirportStrengthening environmental sanitation and decoration, arranging adequate human resources, coordinating with competent authorities to promptly clear traffic jams, ensuring traffic order and safety; transport enterprises have contingency plans to increase vehicles in case of sudden increase in passenger volume or when competent authorities discover cases of vehicles carrying more passengers than the prescribed number and are forced to unload or transfer; controlling the safety conditions of vehicles before departure...

To monitor and urge, the Steering Committee will set up two working groups to organize patrols and inspections to ensure traffic order and safety on the routes as well as plans to prepare vehicles to serve passengers of bus stations, bus companies and passenger transport companies to serve passenger transport during Tet.

Implementation period is from December 28, 2023 to January 3, 2024; before Lunar New Year, from January 30, 2024 to February 9, 2024, i.e. from December 20 to the afternoon of December 30; after Lunar New Year, from January 4 (from February 13, 2024) to the end of the Giap Thin Spring Festival season.

Commenting on the draft plan for passenger transport services in the province, representatives of functional forces including the Traffic Police Department, the Administrative Order Management Department (Provincial Police), the Department of Transport Inspectorate, transport enterprises and bus stations basically agreed with the draft plan.
The units also added some information and forecasts on people's travel needs during this year's Tet holiday; trends in choosing means of transport during Tet. The authorities requested transport companies to remind drivers and assistants about their awareness of complying with traffic laws, not drinking alcohol when driving and signing a commitment if necessary; increase traffic safety propaganda at bus stations about awareness and civilized behavior when participating in traffic...

Based on the comments from departments, branches and units, comrade Nguyen Dinh Khang - Deputy Director of the Department of Transport concluded, assigned the Department of Transport Management to update, supplement comments, complete the Traffic Safety Plan and the plan to mobilize and increase vehicles in case of transfer, unloading or replacement to ensure the best passenger transport service before, during and after the Lunar New Year 2024.
