Add a category to reward outstanding teammates in the '2023 Outstanding Coach and Athlete Election'
In addition to the usual voting titles, the "2023 Outstanding Coach and Athlete Election" will have an additional team category.
2023 marks a successful year for Vietnamese sports when, for the first time, Vietnamese sports won the overall title at a congress held in a neighboring country. This is also the first time Vietnam won the overall title at two consecutive SEA Games. At the 19th Asian Games (ASIAD 19) held in Hangzhou, China, the Vietnamese Sports Delegation completed the set target with 03 Gold Medals, 05 Silver Medals, 19 Bronze Medals, ranking 21st out of 45 countries and territories participating in the Games.
In the 2023 international competition results, Vietnamese Sports performed excellently, winning 1,429 international medals (including 571 Gold Medals, 404 Silver Medals, 454 Bronze Medals). In particular, the Vietnamese Sports Delegation performed excellently, exceeding the set target and for the first time won the first place overall at a SEA Games held in a foreign country, with a total of 136 Gold Medals, 105 Silver Medals, 118 Bronze Medals, breaking 12 records and setting 4 SEA Games 4 records; winning the Southeast Asian Men's U23 Football Gold Medal for the second consecutive time.
Therefore, the "2023 Outstanding Coach and Athletes Election" is expected to attract the attention and interest of a large number of fans and the media. This is also the 45th year the voting event has been held since the first time in 1978, contributing to the encouragement and motivation of coaches and athletes with outstanding achievements in the country's sports.
The "National Coach and Athletes of the Year 2023" will be voted on by email by reputable domestic sports journalists and reporters. The event is expected to take place on December 28. The results will be announced one day later (December 29).
Outstanding coaches and athletes will be honored at the Vietnam Sports Glory ceremony on the occasion of the 78th anniversary of the traditional day, March 27, 2014.
The new feature in the annual voting event is the addition of the team event. In 2023, Vietnamese sports witnessed many outstanding achievements from teams such as the Gold Medal in the Kata and 4-person Sepak Takraw events of ASIAD 19...,
Thus, in addition to the usual voting titles of 5 coaches, 10 high-performance athletes and 5 coaches, 5 disabled athletes with outstanding achievements, there will be an additional team category.
