A series of Vietnamese national team stars injured before the training session
After Hoang Van Toan and Nguyen Tien Linh, a series of other stars of the Vietnamese team suffered injuries before the training session to prepare for the 2023 Asian Cup.
Coach Troussier received consecutive bad news from round 8 of Night Wolf V-League 2023/24 when a series of Vietnamese players were injured. In the highlight match between Hanoi Police Club and Becamex Binh Duong at Hang Day Stadium, Hoang Van Toan and Nguyen Tien Linh both had to leave the field early.
As of yesterday, several other stars of the Vietnamese team were injured on the final day of round 8, including goalkeeper Dang Van Lam of Binh Dinh, Nguyen Hoang Duc and Truong Tien Anh of The Cong Viettel.
Dang Van Lam had to leave the field in the 60th minute when Binh Dinh defeated Hai Phong right at Lach Tray. The 30-year-old goalkeeper showed signs of pain in his left calf and limped after the match. This was very unlucky for Dang Van Lam in the context that he had to compete with Nguyen Filip for the starting position in the Vietnam national team.

Meanwhile, Hoang Duc and Tien Anh encountered problems when The Cong Viettel lost 0-3 to Thep Xanh Nam Dinh at Thien Truong Stadium. Hoang Duc even had to leave the field on a stretcher.
Another case that also reported an injury yesterday was Hanoi FC's central defender Nguyen Thanh Chung. Before he could rejoice when coach Troussier called him back to the Vietnam national team, Thanh Chung faced the risk of losing his place due to a knee injury. This central defender suffered a cruciate ligament injury and needs to rest for at least 2 weeks. He was absent in Hanoi FC's loss to HAGL and will likely be removed from the 2023 Asian Cup roster by coach Troussier.
According to the original plan, Thanh Chung, Que Ngoc Hai, Le Ngoc Bao, Do Thanh Thinh and Nguyen Hai Long will gather early at the same time as the U23 team today (December 28) to check their health status. Coach Troussier will make the final decision after learning about the central defender's problem./.
