Supercar series coming to Vietnam in 2023: Tycoon Minh Nhua buys the most expensive one

Many supercar models will arrive in Vietnam for the first time in 2023 with expensive prices, the most expensive of which is the 143 billion VND supercar of tycoon Pham Tran Nhat Minh.

In 2023, supercars imported to Vietnam as gifts have gradually disappeared. Instead, most Vietnamese tycoons choose to buy cars from official distributors.

Below are the supercars and high-performance sports cars that will arrive in Vietnam for the first time in 2023, as recorded by VietNamNet:

McLaren Elva price 143 billion VND

After 2 years of waiting, in October 2023, the first McLaren Elva officially arrived in Vietnam to be delivered to the super-rich owner in the plastic industry. That is businessman Pham Tran Nhat Minh - aka Minh "Nhua". The car has an official selling price of nearly 143 billion VND.

McLaren Elva is a supercar limited to 149 units worldwide, launched in November 2019. Minh Nhua's car has the serial number 85/149, not only the first McLaren Elva in Vietnam but also the first in Southeast Asia. The car's special feature is that it has no roof and is personalized according to Minh Nhua's own order.

The car's 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine produces 804 horsepower, comes with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, helping the car accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 2.8 seconds with a maximum speed of 326 km/h.

McLaren 765LT Spider costs more than 29 billion VND

First appearing in Vietnam in April 2023, the McLaren 765LT Spider is owned by a famous car enthusiast in Ho Chi Minh City, who owns many other expensive supercars such as Ferrari 488, Lamborghini Aventador SVJ, Rolls-Royce Cullinan, ... The selling price of this supercar is up to 29.3 billion VND, imported by the genuine unit.

Like the hardtop version, the 765LT Spider is limited to only 765 units worldwide. The "heart" of the car is still the twin-turbocharged 4.0L V8 engine, producing 755 horsepower and 800 Nm of torque, helping the car accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 2.8 seconds before reaching a maximum speed of 330 km/h. The roof can be opened and closed in 11 seconds even when the car is moving at a speed of less than 50 km/h.

Porsche 911 Sport Classic costs more than 19 billion VND

Of the 1,250 Porsche 911 Sport Classics produced worldwide, two have arrived in Vietnam. The first one was purchased by Mr. Dang Le Nguyen Vu, Chairman of Trung Nguyen Coffee Group. The other one is owned by businessman Nguyen Quoc Cuong - also known as Cuong Do La. The official dealer announced the selling price at 19.22 billion VND.

The performance car's 3.7-liter twin-turbocharged inline-six engine produces just 542 horsepower and 443 lb-ft of torque. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a 7-speed manual transmission. The car can reach 100 km/h from a standstill in just 4.1 seconds. Top speed is 315 km/h.

Porsche 911 Dakar costs nearly 16 billion VND

The high-performance sports car Porsche 911 Dakar launched at the end of 2022, with a limited production of 2,500 units worldwide. The first one arrived in Vietnam in June 2023, with a selling price of 15.3 billion VND. In August 2023, the genuine car was launched and delivered to the owner. To date, there are only 3 limited edition Porsche 911 Dakar cars in Vietnam.

The special feature of the Porsche 911 Dakar is not only the 473 horsepower 6-cylinder boxer engine or the ability to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 3.4 seconds, this car also has a ground clearance of up to 191 mm - equal to an SUV, helping the car move flexibly on many different types of terrain.

Lamborghini Urus Performante price 16.5 billion VND

In March 2023, the first Lamborghini Urus Performante super SUV was spotted at an emission inspection center in Hanoi. The car was then quickly delivered to its owner in Ho Chi Minh City.

In 2023, up to 3 Lamborghini Urus Performante will be brought in by authorized dealers. The starting price of the car is 16.5 billion VND. The S version is cheaper, starting at only 14.9 billion VND.

The Urus Performante differs from the S version by using many carbon details, along with a wind splitter on the front bumper and a rear spoiler to increase the sportiness. Both versions use a twin-turbocharged 4.0L V8 engine, with a maximum capacity of 657 horsepower and 850 Nm, with 4-wheel drive and an 8-speed automatic transmission. The car can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 3.3 seconds.

Ferrari Purosangue costs nearly 40 billion VND

Launched in the Vietnamese market in June 2023, Ferrari Purosangue has become the most expensive high-chassis sports car in the country. According to the official distributor, the starting price of this car is nearly 40 billion VND - 2.5 times higher than its competitors Lamborghini Urus or Aston Martin DBX. According to a private source, a Vietnamese tycoon has placed an order but the car has not been delivered yet.

The high price of Purosangue is due to the fact that this super SUV uses a naturally aspirated V12 engine, 6.5 liters capacity, producing 725 horsepower and maximum torque of 716 Nm, combined with an 8-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission and 4-wheel drive system. The car's acceleration ability from 0-100 km/h is 3.3 seconds with a maximum speed of 310 km/h.
