At Mi Hong Gold and Gemstone Company, the gold price at the time of survey listed SJC gold at 70.50 - 73.00 million VND/tael (buy - sell).
SJC gold price at Bao Tin Minh Chau Company Limited is also traded by the enterprise at 71.50 - 74.00 million VND/tael (buy - sell). Meanwhile, at Bao Tin Manh Hai, it is being traded at 71.50 - 74.20 million VND/tael (buy - sell).
According to Kitco, the world gold price recorded at 5:00 a.m. today, Vietnam time, was at 2,062.970 USD/ounce. Converted according to the current exchange rate at Vietcombank, the world gold price is about 59.611 million VND/tael (excluding taxes and fees). Thus, the price of SJC gold bars is still 11.389 million VND/tael higher than the international gold price.
The world gold price closed the last trading session of 2023 at 2,062 USD/ounce, up more than 13% compared to the price at the beginning of this year of 1,842 USD/ounce, considered the best trading year since 2020.
Gold investors are predicting record high prices next year, as the fundamentals of a dovish US interest rate pivot, continued geopolitical risks and central bank buying are expected to support the market after a volatile 2023.
Oil down, USD up
The world USD price tends to increase. The DXY index - measuring the strength of the USD compared to 6 major currencies - ended the week at 101.38 points, up 0.15% compared to the previous session.

In the domestic market, the selling price of gasoline and oil today, December 31, is applied according to the price at the management session on the afternoon of December 28.
The Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Ministry of Finance have jointly managed gasoline prices to maintain the price of RON 95 gasoline, slightly reduce the price of E5 gasoline, and increase the price of diesel.
Specifically, the price of E5 gasoline decreased to 21,180 VND per liter. The price of RON 95 gasoline remained at 22,140 VND per liter.
Diesel price increased to 19,780 VND/liter. Kerosene price decreased to 20,450 VND/liter.
Coffee prices drop sharply at the end of the year
Domestic coffee prices were updated at 5:12 a.m. on December 31, with a sharp decrease. Currently, the average coffee price in the Central Highlands provinces is about 68,000 VND/kg, with the highest purchase price in Dak Lak and Dak Nong provinces being 68,200 VND/kg. This price is a decrease of 2,000 VND/kg compared to the previous day.

Specifically, the coffee purchase price in Gia Lai and Kon Tum provinces is quite high at 69,900 VND/kg; In Dak Nong province, coffee is purchased at the highest price of 68,200 VND/kg.
The price of green coffee beans (coffee beans, fresh coffee beans) in Lam Dong province in districts such as Bao Loc, Di Linh, Lam Ha, coffee is purchased at 67,400 VND/kg.
Today's coffee price (December 31) in Dak Lak province is the highest; in Cu M'gar district, coffee is purchased at 68,200 VND/kg, and in Ea H'leo district, Buon Ho town, it is purchased at the same price of 68,300 VND/kg./.
