The second delegation, led by Colonel Tran Hong Hai - Deputy Political Commissar of Region 2, aboard the ship Truong Sa 04, will deliver Tet (Lunar New Year) gifts to five offshore platforms in the Phuc Nguyen and Tu Chinh clusters, Radar Station 590, and the military and civilians of Con Dao district. Wherever they encounter fishing boats and naval vessels on patrol, the delegation will stop to deliver gifts and extend Tet greetings. The entire voyage is expected to last approximately 20 days.

According to Lieutenant Colonel Nghiem Xuan Thai, Political Officer of the DK1 Battalion, the continental shelf sea is currently experiencing strong winds and high waves. Plans for transporting gifts to the offshore platforms using the rope-pulling method have been carefully calculated and prepared. The DK1 platforms are on 24/7 watch, ready to receive ships arriving to offer New Year greetings. The gifts are packaged in protective bags to prevent them from getting wet.

Colonel Tran Chi Tam, Deputy Chief of Operations Staff of the 2nd Naval Region, said that despite unfavorable weather conditions, Tet gifts must be delivered directly to the officers and soldiers at all costs. The delegation will organize an early Tet celebration with the officers and soldiers on the offshore platforms. In case of rough seas preventing reporters from reaching the platforms, they will send Tet greetings via loudspeaker and deliver gifts via rope.
