At the trial, the defendant confessed honestly, admitting to his crime. He stated that he committed robbery because he was unable to repay a debt due and therefore conceived the idea. The prosecutor requested a sentence of 4 to 5 years imprisonment for the crime of "Robbery".
The panel of judges concluded, based on the results of the investigation, trial, and public debate at the court hearing, that there was sufficient evidence to affirm that the prosecution's indictment of defendant Nguyen Tuan Anh for the crime of "Robbery" was correct in identifying the perpetrator and the crime. The defendant had no aggravating circumstances. Regarding mitigating circumstances, the defendant had honestly confessed during the investigation; although he committed the crime, he did not cause any property damage; and a family member is a person who contributed to the revolution.
Considering the serious nature of the case, the defendant is a person with full criminal responsibility and was aware that his actions violated the law, therefore an appropriate sentence is necessary. Regarding the victim, since there was no request for civil compensation, the Court did not consider this matter at this trial.
