Referee Le Tuan Kiet confirmed that he filed a lawsuit against player Nguyen Hong Quang with the police of Ward 15, District 11, Ho Chi Minh City after being assaulted by this player on the field.

The incident occurred during the match between the Quang Ngai Veterans and Cealdon teams, in the 23rd season of the Online Business Football Tournament. In the 19th minute, referee Kiet blew the whistle for a foul on the opponent by a player from the Quang Ngai Veterans. The Central representative reacted strongly, claiming that the opponent player fell down on his own and was not fouled. Hong Quang received a yellow card for insulting the referee.

Instead of restraining himself, Hong Quang continued to curse and turned around to punch referee Le Tuan Kiet straight in the face. Mr. Kiet was stunned and collapsed on the field, requiring the care of medical staff.

Not stopping there, Hong Quang continued to try to attack the referee. This player received a direct red card and when passing the referee's table, Hong Quang continued to rush forward to attack the referee.

Mr. Le Tuan Kiet was then unable to continue controlling the match and changed duties.

According to the diagnosis, Mr. Kiet had a swollen right cheek and a fractured jawbone in the maxillary sinus area. The referee shared that his health is now better, but he still has pain in his cheek and toothache.

After the incident, the Organizing Committee punished player Nguyen Hong Quang. He was banned from participating in all tournaments as well as activities of Doanh Nhan Online. In addition, the Doanh Nhan Quang Ngai football team paid a fine of 10 million VND to compensate and support the referee for damages.
