(Baonghean.vn) - Nghe An Ethnic Boarding Vocational School is one of 18 specialized schools nationwide that provide vocational training for ethnic minority groups.
From its early days, the school was selected as a key vocational school, tasked with providing vocational training at intermediate and basic levels, as well as job placement counseling for workers, contributing to the socio-economic development of the southwestern mountainous districts of the province.
Over the years, the school has continuously developed its strengths, overcome difficulties, and focused on improving the quality of teaching and learning, paying attention to innovative solutions in management and quality control of vocational training.
In the 2022-2023 academic year, the school had 27 intermediate-level classes with 832 students; of which 11.9% achieved excellent and outstanding grades; 2 student startup projects participated in the provincial-level competition for the first time, with 1 project winning first prize and 1 project winning a consolation prize; 1 project won an award at the national-level idea competition; 18 teachers participated in the school-level excellent teacher competition and all won awards, including 4 first prize winners who were selected by the school to participate in the provincial-level vocational education teacher training conference in October 2023; 8 students won the school-level skills competition, and 1 student won the provincial-level skills competition.
During the past academic year, the school also focused on collaborating with businesses to cultivate soft skills, helping students acquire comprehensive skills after graduation; such as: Hai Phong Export Garment Company, Hoang Tung Anh Garment Company Limited (Vinh Phuc), Tinh Loi Garment Company Limited (Hai Duong), Dai Hoa Construction & Trading Joint Stock Company (Hanoi), Truong An Mechanical and Commercial Construction Investment Joint Stock Company; AMECC Mechanical and Construction Joint Stock Company, KUNJEK Joint Stock Company, Nam Trieu Shipbuilding Company Limited (Hai Phong), etc.
Last year, the school awarded intermediate-level diplomas to 354 students and helped 337 students find jobs in fashion design, welding, domestic electrical work, and industrial electrical work at companies such as Hai Phong Export Garment Company and Tinh Loi Garment Company (Hai Duong). Training and professional development for staff and teachers, as well as scientific research, continued to be a priority. In the 2022-2023 academic year, the school received many prestigious awards: the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs awarded two individuals with outstanding achievements, and the school as a whole received a Commendation Flag and Certificate of Merit from the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee.
In the 2023-2024 academic year, the school recruited over 1,425 new students, achieving 121.3% of the target; opened 36 classes with 1,051 students, including 2 industrial electrical classes, 6 domestic electrical classes, 7 welding classes, 13 fashion design classes, 6 veterinary classes, and 2 automotive technology classes.
