Greedy for 30 million VND, she cruelly sold her sister to China
(Baonghean.vn) - To have money to spend, Hoai tricked and sold his younger sister to China. The "monster woman"'s actions were discovered by the Ky Son District Police.
On January 15, the People's Court of Nghe An province opened a first-instance criminal trial against Cut Thi Ngoc, 26 years old, residing in Nam Nhoong commune, Que Phong district, and Ven Thi Hoai, 20 years old, residing in Bao Nam commune, Ky Son district, for the crime of trafficking in people under 16 years old.
At the trial, Ngoc and Hoai confessed their crimes. Hoai cried many times when she saw her parents and relatives. The female defendant said she was very remorseful for her actions.

According to the indictment, in 2022, when Ngoc was working as a worker in Thai Binh province, he met and got to know Hoai. Although he had quit his job in Thai Binh, the two still kept in touch regularly. Later, Ngoc texted Hoai saying that he had a mother named Lan living in China. If Hoai could find her, Lan would pay him a handsome salary. Because he needed money to pay off his debt, Hoai said he had a younger sister and would give her to Ngoc to sell to China to get married.
Hoai said she owed 3.5 million VND, so Ngoc transferred 4.5 million VND to Hoai to pay off the debt and the cost of taking her sister to Hanoi. Ngoc promised to pay Hoai 30 million VND for her salary and 120 million VND for her family, but on the condition that her sister had to get married for 1 year before she could return.
After agreeing on the price with Ngoc, on June 29, 2023, Hoai went home to meet his younger sister, VTK, born in 2009, and asked if she would go to work for the company with her. K. replied that if her parents agreed, she would go. Hearing Hoai say she would take her to work for the company, Hoai's mother also agreed.
On June 30, MTN (born 2008) and her mother went to Hoai's house to visit. Knowing that Hoai was taking her younger sister to work in Bac Giang, she asked for permission for N. to go along.

After that, Hoai called Ngoc to say he found 2 people to take him to China and asked Ngoc to pay him 60 million VND for the salary and 80,000 yuan (equivalent to 240 million VND).
According to the plan, at around 2:00 p.m. on July 1, 2023, Hoai took a bus to take the two victims to Vinh City to catch a bus to Hanoi. When arriving at Cu village, Chieu Luu commune, Ky Son district, Hoai was caught red-handed by the police. On July 3, 2023, upon learning that Hoai was arrested, Ngoc went to Ky Son District Police to confess to his crime.
At the time of being sold, K. was only 14 years, 3 months, and 21 days old and N was only 14 years, 10 months, and 27 days old.
Hoai said that because of greed and lack of knowledge of the law, he sold his sister to China. Having the last word, Ngoc and Hoai asked the jury to reduce their sentence so they could return home soon.
Hoai's parents, who are also the legal representatives of K., did not request civil compensation from the two defendants and asked the panel of judges to reduce the sentences for the defendants.
After a comprehensive review of the case, the People's Court sentenced Cut Thi Ngoc and Ven Thi Hoai to 12 years in prison for the crime of Trafficking in persons under 16 years old./.
