Billionaire Elon Musk supports Kiev's initiative to hold a peace conference in Switzerland
(Baonghean.vn) - Russia's TASS news agency reported on January 16 that billionaire Elon Musk hopes Switzerland will host a peace summit on Ukraine at the request of President Volodymyr Zelensky. The American businessman wrote about this on his social network account X (formerly known as Twitter).

“I hope this happens,” the billionaire said. “It’s time for people to stop dying in the trenches.”
Mr Musk's post was a response to another post by an X user who posted a screenshot of an article in the British Daily Mail with the headline "President Zelensky offers Switzerland to host high-level peace conference".
On January 15, at a joint press conference with President Zelensky in Bern, Swiss Federal President Viola Amherd said that the President of Ukraine had proposed that Switzerland host a high-level peace conference on Ukraine's "peace formula". According to her, Bern is ready to host this summit. The parties are taking the next steps.
TASS added that in mid-November 2022, in a video address to delegates attending the G20 summit, Mr. Zelensky proposed a so-called 10-point peace plan without taking into account Moscow's views.
Notably, the plan implies the withdrawal of all Russian Armed Forces from the borders since 1991 and the return of control over the "exclusive economic zones" in the Black Sea and the Sea of Azov to Ukraine.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov noted that Kiev's statements about a peaceful solution do not take into account the real situation. Moscow sees no progress in the peace process in Ukraine, so Russia continues its special military operation.
