"I went to Ukraine armed with nothing but the song of the legion, and I have never been home since," said Frank, 50.
According to him, of all the mercenaries he knew at the beginning of the conflict, only four are still in Ukraine.
"I never left Ukraine after I came here, but most of the people I knew either went home or were killed. I know that there are only four people here who were my comrades in the early days," Frank said.
