Temporarily detained Lam Dong Provincial Party Secretary Tran Duc Quan
Mr. Tran Duc Quan, Secretary of Lam Dong Provincial Party Committee (born in 1967, from Da Nang City) was prosecuted and temporarily detained on charges of "Taking advantage of position and power while performing official duties".
On the evening of January 24, Lieutenant General To An Xo, spokesman for the Ministry of Public Security, confirmed that the arrest of Mr. Tran Duc Quan took place when the Investigation Police Agency (C03-Ministry of Public Security) was investigating the case.Bribery, Bribery Acceptance andAbusing position and power while performing official duties,occurred in Lam Dong province and some related localities.
The above case is under the supervision and direction of the Central Steering Committee on anti-corruption and negativity.
Today, C03-Ministry of Public Security issued a decision to prosecute the accused, an order to arrest the accused for temporary detention, and a search warrant for Mr. Tran Duc Quan for the crime of "Abusing position and power while performing official duties", as prescribed in Clause 3, Article 356 of the Penal Code 2015 (amended and supplemented in 2017).
According to Lieutenant General To An Xo, the initial investigation determined that Mr. Tran Duc Quan had abused his position and power to violate the provisions of the law when participating in directing the settlement of work related to the Dai Ninh Project in Lam Dong province, causing very serious consequences.
After the Supreme People's Procuracy approved, C03-Ministry of Public Security executed the above decisions and orders in accordance with the provisions of law.
Currently, the authorities are continuing to investigate and expand the case; reviewing, seizing, and freezing the assets of the subjects, ensuring complete recovery for the State.
