Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council presents Tet gifts to the poor in Thanh Chuong district

(Baonghean.vn) - Giving gifts and New Year wishes to the poor and households in difficult circumstances in Thanh Chuong district, comrade Nguyen Nam Dinh - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council hopes that the families will continue to make efforts, overcome difficulties, and strive to build a better life.

On the morning of January 26, the working delegation of the Provincial People's Council Standing Committee coordinated with the Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Foreign Trade of Vietnam, Vinh branch, to organize the giving of Tet gifts to the poor and people in especially difficult circumstances in Thanh Chuong district.

The delegation was led by Comrade Nguyen Nam Dinh - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council. Also participating in the gift giving ceremony was Comrade Nguyen Hai Duong - Member of the Provincial Party Executive Committee, Secretary of the District Party Committee, Chairman of the Thanh Chuong District People's Council.

The delegation of the Provincial People's Council presented 100 Tet gifts to the poor and those in especially difficult circumstances in 4 communes: Thanh Huong, Thanh Thinh, Thanh My and Ngoc Lam. Each gift included cash and gifts, worth 700,000 VND.

Directly presenting Tet gifts to the poor and disadvantaged people in the four communes to celebrate the traditional Tet of the nation more fully and warmly, comrade Nguyen Nam Dinh affirmed: The socio-economic situation and people's lives in the province have developed, but besides that, there are still families in difficulty. Through review, the whole province currently has 95,396 poor and near-poor households, accounting for 10.92% of the population.

Along with focusing on socio-economic development, social security work, caring for the poor with the spirit of "leaving no one behind" is of interest to Party committees, authorities, agencies, organizations in the political system from the province to the grassroots, the business community and society.

A prominent example is that in 2024, implementing the Provincial Party Committee's policy of supporting house construction for the poor and people with housing difficulties, the whole province mobilized to complete and hand over more than 7,500 new houses for people to live in.

At the same time, continuing the policy of taking care of Tet for the poor in the Spring of Giap Thin 2024 of the Provincial Party Committee, although the economic conditions after the Covid-19 pandemic faced many difficulties, up to this point, the whole province has mobilized more than 141 billion VND to support the poor in the province to have a more complete and happy Tet.

The Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council also highly appreciated the role of the entire political system, the business community and all classes of people in Thanh Chuong district, who have paid attention to doing a good job of social security in recent times, contributing to the province's overall achievements in this work. At the same time, he hoped that local authorities would continue to take more care so that "no one is left behind", ensuring social security and promoting local development.
