Donald Trump may impose 60% tax on Chinese imports, if re-elected
(Baonghean.vn) - The Washington Post reported that former US President Donald Trump could impose a 60% tax on imports from China if he is re-elected in the presidential election in November 2024.

According to RT, the Washington Post on January 28 quoted a source saying that former US President Donald Trump discussed with his advisers the possibility of imposing a 60% tax on all Chinese imports.
The Washington Post said that if realized, this move would lead to a global trade war.
“China will pay” – That was the slogan used by former President Donald Trump in 2018 to impose higher tariffs on Chinese goods.
Under the Trump administration, the US imposed tariffs on more than $300 billion worth of Chinese imports, from shoes and clothing to electronics, bicycles and even animal feed, after an investigation concluded that China stole intellectual property from US companies and forced them to transfer technology.
Earlier, on January 24, speaking to Fox News Digital, former President Trump said he was "very honored" to win the New Hampshire primary, and affirmed that the Republican Party was "very united" behind his candidacy. He also won the Iowa primary last week.
A victory in New Hampshire, if confirmed, would be a major blow to rival Nikki Haley, and bring former President Trump one step closer to winning the Republican nomination for the 2024 US presidential election./.
