(Baonghean.vn) - On the afternoon of January 30, the National Assembly Delegation of Nghe An province coordinated with the Provincial People's Court to organize a Conference to collect comments on the Draft Law on Juvenile Justice.
The conference was held online, with the central bridge at the Provincial People's Court and component bridges at the district-level People's Courts.

The draft Law on Juvenile Justice was drafted by the Supreme People's Court and submitted to the National Assembly for consideration and comments at the 7th Session of the 15th National Assembly.
The Juvenile Justice Law Project consists of 5 parts, 11 chapters, 175 articles, regulating the basic principles of juvenile justice activities. The Law Project provides 11 diversion measures, including 10 diversion measures in the community and 1 educational measure at a reformatory school.

The scope of the Draft Law includes: Regulations on handling and redirecting juvenile offenders; penalties and procedural procedures for juveniles; community reintegration and support for victims; duties, powers and responsibilities of agencies, organizations and individuals in judicial activities of juveniles.
At the conference, delegates agreed with the need to develop a draft law, and that the promulgation of the Juvenile Justice Law is appropriate in the current context. Delegates attending the conference gave many comments on both the content and form of the draft law.

Specifically, it is necessary to clearly define the scope of the Law in accordance with its name; the draft law also confuses the two concepts of children andminor(in Clause 2, Article 7); there should be regulations clarifying the standards, conditions and roles of social workers (Articles 21,63),...
Speaking at the conference, Comrade Tran Ngoc Son - Member of the Party Committee, Chief Justice of the Provincial People's Court thanked the delegates for their comments; at the same time, he hoped that the delegates would continue to study and contribute their comments on the draft law. The above comments will be compiled to submit to the Supreme People's Court for further supplementation and completion, and submit to the National Assembly at the upcoming session.
