(Baonghean.vn) - On February 1, at Truong Son village, Nam Can commune, Ky Son district, Nghe An province, the Engineering Department, Nghe An Provincial Military Command successfully detonated a 350kg bomb left over from the war, ensuring absolute safety for people and equipment.
Previously, at about 7:00 a.m. on January 29,The Military Command of Nam Can Commune, Ky Son District, Nghe An Province received a report from Mr. Nhang Van Son in Pa Ca Village, Nam Can Commune. Mr. Nhang said that while digging the foundation of his house, the construction team discovered an object suspected to be a bomb with a diameter of 40cm and a length of 126cm.
Upon receiving the news, the Nam Can Commune Military Command quickly sent forces to the scene, blocked off the area suspected of containing a bomb, placed signs marking the dangerous area, organized 24/7 vigilance, and did not allow people and fishing vessels to approach the area suspected of containing a bomb; and reported to the District People's Committee and the Ky Son District Military Command.
Approaching the object suspected to be a bomb, the Military Command of Ky Son district organized forces to go to the scene to verify the information and determined that the object was a bomb left over from the war, a demolition bomb, 40cm in diameter, 126cm long, weighing about 350kg, with the detonator intact.
After studying and surveying the specific situation, using professional measures, the Engineering Department, Nghe An Provincial Military Command, neutralized the detonator. Next, the Ky Son District Military Command and the Nam Can Commune militia salvaged and transported the bomb to the Truong Son hill area, Nam Can Commune, to successfully destroy the bomb, ensuring absolute safety for people and property.
