Diverse supply to meet consumer demand
According to the Department of Industry and Trade, on the occasion of the Lunar New Year 2024, the consumer goods market, especially essential goods, will not have many fluctuations and will be relatively stable.
Previously, units and businesses trading and distributing goods in the province proactively researched the market, built production plans, reasonably reserved goods, and deployed to ensure the supply of goods for the 2024 Lunar New Year, avoiding shortages, price hikes or backlogs after Tet. State management agencies in the trade sector have deployed many solutions to maintain market stability, ensure supply and demand balance at the end of the year, during Tet and in case of an epidemic.

Distributors such as Thanh Nghe Tinh Food Joint Stock Company, Nghe An Agricultural Products and Foodstuffs Company Limited, Nam Long Trading Company Limited, supermarket systems: Go! On February 10, 2024 (the first day of the Lunar New Year), all production and business establishments, markets, and retail stores in the area will temporarily stop operating. On February 11, 2024 (the second day of the Lunar New Year), many traditional markets, stores, supermarkets, etc. will begin to reopen, with abundant and full goods, but prices will remain stable and will not increase. On February 13, 2024 (the fourth day of the Lunar New Year), most businesses will resume operations.

In general, prices of essential goods have not increased much compared to Tet 2023. Some items remain at the same price to serve people's shopping needs. There has been no phenomenon of price fever or sudden price increases.
Price developments of some key commodities
Food group: Retail prices of some rice products increased slightly compared to the same period last year, specifically: The retail prices of delicious rice produced in the province range from 18,000-21,000 VND/kg (in districts and towns) and in Vinh City, the selling prices of Thai rice and jasmine milk rice range from 20,000-23,000 VND/kg, Hanoi sticky rice 27,000-32,000 VND/kg, Thai sticky rice 30,000-35,000 VND/kg... The retail prices of agricultural products increased slightly compared to the same period in 2023.

The supply of food products has basically met the needs of consumers. Prices of goods on the market are stable, not increasing compared to the time before Tet and slightly increasing compared to normal days. In general, the market is moving according to normal rules, there is no phenomenon of shortage of goods, price fever, causing market instability.
