Hungary believes the West is waging war against Russia in Ukraine
(Baonghean.vn) - Hungarian Defense Minister Krystof Szalay-BoBrownicki affirmed that his country will still not provide weapons to Ukraine, and will not change its stance under any pressure.
According to TASS news agency on February 17, speaking at the Forum of Hungarian Business Leaders in Budapest on February 16, Hungarian Defense Minister Krystof Szalay-Bobrownicki said that the West is waging war against Russia in Ukraine with its own weapons and money, although strategically, they are not ready for this.
Calling the events in neighboring Ukraine a "terrible massacre," Minister Bobrownicki said the situation had changed the balance of power and economics in Europe.
"We, the West, are fighting a war, in which the Ukrainians are fighting with Western money, weapons and ammunition. However, the West is not strategically ready to conduct military operations in Ukraine, including weapons systems and ammunition. While this conflict seems to have no end," the Hungarian Defense Minister said.
Mr. Bobrownicki stressed that Hungary's position regarding the Ukrainian conflict remains unchanged: an immediate ceasefire and peace talks are necessary. Hungary will still not supply weapons to Ukraine, and will not change this position under any pressure.
