Russian President says 'America has let the genie out of the bottle'
Russian President Vladimir Putin, speaking about US policy, said that controlling the world from one center harms it, and assessed it as a wrong policy.
“It was the United States that let the genie out of the bottle, but if they are allowed, why shouldn't other countries be allowed to protect their core interests in the same way?” Putin said.
“You have to understand that the world cannot be controlled from one center, and this is even harmful to the center itself, because it begins to undermine its foundations. In my interview with your journalist, Mr. (Tucker) Carlson, I also said that the dollar is being undermined. Well, they banned payments in dollars. Why they do this, your boss, is completely incomprehensible. Well, it is understandable that they want to achieve quick results. But the results are not achieved, what they achieve is to weaken the power of the dollar,” Putin said during meetings with participants of the World Youth Festival.
The World Youth Festival takes place from 1 to 7 March on the territory of the Sirius Federal District (Russia) by presidential decree. The organizer of the festival is the Russian Youth Union (Rosmolodezh).
