(Baonghean.vn) - Providing Kiev with long-range missiles, including German Taurus missiles, will not be decisive in the conflict in Ukraine; and Germany does not intend to cross the line.

That was the statement made by German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius at a joint press conference with his Finnish counterpart Antti Häkkänen.

"Nobody wants to send troops to Ukraine. Of course, similar discussions continue. But it should stop. Now we talk about the other aspect, which is long-range missiles. We have always stressed that even having such long-range missiles will not solve this war," Minister Pistorius stressed.

According to the German minister, long-range missiles “can help at one time or another” on the front, however, Germany does not intend to “cross the decisive line” and is not yet ready to supply Taurus missiles to Kiev.

Earlier, after the leak of a conversation between German officers, specifically discussing the attacks on the Crimean bridge, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz once again spoke out against the supply of Taurus cruise missiles to Ukraine, because according to him, to control the operation of this type of missile, the participation of German soldiers is needed. Chancellor Scholz had previously warned that such a scenario would violate the “red line” and make Germany a belligerent party.
