We are preparing to play our best football. The situation is a bit difficult with the loss of force, but I still believe this is the right moment to beat the Vietnamese team.''

Coach Shin admitted that the Indonesian team is having difficulty with the force issue but the whole team is very confident to win 3 more points on the away field: ''Right before the first leg, some of my players showed signs of flu. I don't know if there is a flu epidemic in Indonesia or in Southeast Asia. 5 players have flu, 1 is suspended and 1 cannot recover from injury, so I have to add 3 more players. This is a rare situation.

Two years ago at the SEA Games, my team lost to Vietnam. However, at that time my players were young and inexperienced. I believe at the present time, they are well-prepared to face this away match in Vietnam.''

''This is the most important match of the year and we came here to win. Many of the Indonesian players may lack experience, but I see that they have the desire and ability to deliver the best performance,'' the Korean coach emphasized.

Regarding the fact that Indonesia has not beaten Vietnam at My Dinh for the past 20 years, coach Shin shared: ''Statistics can always change. We believe this time we can break old records to create a new milestone for Indonesian football.

Two years ago, we lost to Vietnam here. The situation has changed now. This time, the Indonesian team has many younger players, maybe less experienced. However, with a squad of many foreign players, with experience playing in Europe, I believe Indonesia can play as well as in the first leg.

The second leg match between Vietnam and Indonesia will take place at 7pm tomorrow, March 26, at My Dinh National Stadium (Hanoi).

Under coach Troussier, Vietnamese football has had 3 defeats against Indonesia: the loss at SEA Games 32, Asian Cup and most recently the first leg of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers./.
