Celebrating the 40th Anniversary of the Establishment of the Gathering Team and receiving the Certificate of Merit from the Prime Minister
(Baonghean.vn) - On the afternoon of April 11, in Phon Xa Van town, Xieng Khouang province (Laos), the Nghe An Provincial Military Command held a meeting to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the establishment of the Collection Team, Nghe An Provincial Military Command.
Attending the traditional meeting were Comrade Kieu Thi Hang Phuc - Consulate General of Vietnam in Northern Laos; Comrade Bun Hom - Thet Tha Ni - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, Head of the National Assembly Delegation of Xieng Khouang Province; Lieutenant General Vong Son - In Pan Phim - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Special Working Group of Xay Som Bun Province; Major General Bun Phong - But Tha Vong - Deputy Secretary of the Military Party Committee, Political Commissar of the Provincial Military Command, Deputy Head of the Special Working Group of Vientiane Province.
On the side of Nghe An province delegates, there were comrades: Ngoc Kim Nam - Member of the Standing Committee, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Commission; Colonel Dinh Bat Van - Deputy Commander, Chief of Staff, Provincial Military Command; Colonel Pham Dinh Trung - Deputy Political Commissar, Provincial Military Command; delegates of the Department of Foreign Affairs, Provincial Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Commission, Provincial People's Committee Office, Provincial Military Command, Provincial Police and Provincial Border Guard Command.

The Collection Team, Nghe An Provincial Military Command was established on April 18, 1984. The team is stationed in Hamlet 24, Nghi Phu Commune, Vinh City, with the task of searching for and collecting the remains of Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and experts who died in Laos in the three provinces of Xieng Khouang, Vientiane, Xay Som Bun and in Nghe An province.
Over the past 40 years, officers and soldiers of the Gathering Team, Nghe An Provincial Military Command have always upheld their awareness, responsibility and determination to overcome all difficulties and hardships to successfully complete the sacred and noble tasks assigned by the Party, State and People.
With great political responsibility and sacred sentiment, over the past 40 years, silently overcoming dangers and difficulties, the officers and soldiers of the Repatriation Team have closely coordinated with the Party Committee, government, people and armed forces of the neighboring country, actively propagandizing and mobilizing the people of Lao ethnic groups, surveying, searching and retrieving over 12,628 remains of martyrs in Laos and 472 remains of martyrs in the country. During the implementation of the mission, 9 comrades sacrificed, 13 comrades were injured, 26 comrades suffered from serious illnesses, carrying many lifelong sequelae; on the Lao side, 5 comrades sacrificed, 9 comrades were injured.

In recognition of the achievements in 2001, the Gathering Team, Nghe An Provincial Military Command was awarded the title of Hero of the People's Armed Forces in the period of renovation by the State; in 1997, the State awarded the Third Class Military Exploit Medal; in 2012 and 2021, the State awarded the Third Class Military Exploit Medal; in 2004, the Second Class Labor Medal; for 6 consecutive years (2018 - 2023), the unit was awarded the title of Determined to Win Unit by the Military Region 4 Command, the Provincial Party Standing Committee awarded the Party Committee Certificate of Merit for 5 consecutive years of excellent performance; many collectives and individuals were awarded at all levels.
Speaking at the ceremony, Colonel Pham Dinh Trung - Deputy Political Commissar, Provincial Military Command emphasized: The two resistance wars against French colonialism and American imperialism, the war to protect the Fatherland and the international duty in Laos all left many serious consequences; the sacrifices and losses of generations of cadres, soldiers and our people cannot be compensated for. In recent times, the Party and State have paid great attention to leading, directing and implementing the search and collection of martyrs' remains during the war and have achieved certain results.

The Deputy Commissar of the Provincial Military Command also affirmed that the results that the Gathering Team has achieved over the past 40 years are the result of the determination and great efforts of generations of cadres and soldiers in the entire Team, the contributions of Veterans, the enthusiastic support and assistance of the government, armed forces and people of Lao ethnic groups; the close leadership and direction of the Military Region 4 Command, the Provincial Party Committee, the People's Committee of Nghe An province, the Provincial Steering Committee 515; provincial departments, branches, sectors, Party committees and authorities of districts, towns and cities; armed forces units and the people of the province.
However, there are still many remains of martyrs that have not been found and collected. This is the responsibility and sacred sentiment of the entire Party, the entire people, and the entire army towards the heroic martyrs who sacrificed for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland and performed the noble international mission. He also hopes that the Party committees, authorities, departments, branches, and organizations at all levels in general, and the officers and soldiers of the Collection Team in particular, in the coming time, will continue to uphold the sense of responsibility, find many solutions to overcome difficulties, improve the quality and effectiveness of the search and collection of martyrs' remains, and meet the expectations of the families and relatives of the martyrs.

On this occasion, the Prime Minister presented a Certificate of Merit to the Collection Team, Nghe An Provincial Military Command for their outstanding achievements in performing the task of searching, collecting and identifying martyrs' remains. The Provincial Military Command presented Certificates of Merit to 2 groups and 10 individuals with outstanding achievements in performing the task of searching and collecting martyrs' remains.
Previously, the delegates offered incense and flowers to commemorate the heroic martyrs at the Vietnam-Laos Combat Alliance Monument in Xieng Khouang province (Laos); offered incense and flowers to commemorate the heroic martyrs surveyed, searched and collected by the Collection Team in the 2023-2024 dry season at the Collection Team's worship room in Phon Xa Van town, Xieng Khouang province (Laos)./.
