North Korea conducts first combined tactical drill simulating nuclear counterattack
(Baonghean.vn) - According to sources, the main purpose of the exercise is to demonstrate the reliability, superiority, strength and diverse means of North Korea's nuclear force.

Russia's TASS news agency on April 23 quoted a source from the North Korean central news agency KCNA as saying that Pyongyang held its first combined tactical drill simulating a nuclear counterattack with the participation of 600mm super-large multiple rocket launchers. The exercise took place under the direction of North Korean leader Kim Jong-un on April 22.
The drill was divided into “a practical drill aimed at mastering the procedures and processes of switching to a nuclear counterattack posture at the moment the “Hwasanpalryong” system, North Korea’s highest nuclear crisis alert, is issued, and a drill for operating the nuclear counterattack command system,” KCNA said.
The news agency added: "The artillery forces of the super-large multiple rocket launchers fired volleys, with a resolute attitude towards the enemy and a clear view of the main enemy. The super-large multiple rocket launchers accurately hit the target on the island within a range of 352 kilometers, fully demonstrating their unparalleled power and perfect practical combat posture."
Accordingly, leader Kim Jong-un highly appreciated the ability to hit and the high accuracy of the super-large multiple rocket launcher.
The main purpose of the exercise is to demonstrate the reliability, superiority, power and diverse means of the DPRK's nuclear forces, and to strengthen the nuclear forces both in quality and quantity.
KCNA said the drill was "a clear warning signal to the enemies as it was conducted at a time when the enemies' military confrontation activities against the DPRK are going on in an extremely provocative and aggressive nature".
