Arrested 3 women lending at high interest rates of more than 26 billion VND
(Baonghean.vn) - On May 24, Hoang Mai Town Police announced that they had successfully broken up a case, arresting 3 subjects who lent money at high interest rates in civil transactions with the amount of 26.2 billion VND, illegally profiting more than 4.4 billion VND.
Previously, through the investigation of criminal cases of loan sharking occurring in the area, Hoang Mai Town Police discovered two subjects Nguyen Thi Hai (born in 1982), residing in Quynh Thien Ward and Tran Thi Hue (born in 1992), residing in Quynh Di Ward, Hoang Mai Town, took advantage of the difficult economic situation, some people in the area had the need to borrow money to carry out loan sharking in civil transactions, with an interest rate of 3,000 VND/million/day.

After a period of investigation, using professional measures, on May 12, 2024, Hoang Mai Town Police presided over and coordinated with the Provincial Police's professional department to successfully crack the case, arresting Nguyen Thi Hai and Tran Thi Hue. At the suspects' homes, the authorities seized more than 700 million VND, 01 laptop, 02 mobile phones, and many books, papers, and loan contracts.
Continuing to investigate and expand the case, on May 23, 2024, Hoang Mai Town Police arrested Tran Thi Tam (born in 1992), residing in Quynh Di Ward, Hoang Mai Town, for the act of lending money at high interest rates in civil transactions; at the same time, proving that the amount of money lent was about 6.2 billion VND, illegally profiting more than 400 million VND.

Currently, Hoang Mai Town Police are criminally detaining 03 subjects Nguyen Thi Hai, Tran Thi Hue and Tran Thi Tam to continue investigating and expanding the case.
