To have money to spend, Toan created many social media accounts, then uploaded sensitive images and clips related to young girls. After that, he made friends with many men, texted and sent them pornographic images and clips and blackmailed them.
On May 10, the Krong No District Police (Dak Nong) announced that they had just initiated a criminal case, prosecuted the accused, and temporarily detained Le Cong Toan (born in 1995, residing in Tan Thanh Ward, Buon Ma Thuot City, Dak Lak Province) to investigate the act of "extortion of property".
According to initial investigation results, to have money to spend, Toan created many social network accounts, then downloaded sensitive images and clips related to young girls and set them as avatars of social network accounts (Facebook, Zalo).
After that, Toan made friends with many men and texted them, sent them pornographic pictures and clips and blackmailed them.
On March 15, Toan used an account named “Nhung Nhung” to send a friend request to Mr. LXH (born in 2003, residing in Krong No district, Dak Nong province). Seeing that the account had a female profile picture, Mr. LXH agreed to add her as a friend and sent messages back and forth to get to know her.
During this process, Toan asked Mr. H. to text and record videos with pornographic content to send via Facebook messages, then Toan saved them.
On April 1, the subject asked Mr. H. to transfer 1.5 million VND and threatened to spread the videos on social networks if he did not.
Due to fear, from April 1 to 22, Mr. H. transferred 2.4 million VND to Toan. On April 24, the Krong No District Police coordinated with the authorities to arrest Le Cong Toan.
