Deploying to collect voters' opinions on wards merger in Vinh city
(Baonghean.vn) - According to the voting results in wards and communes in Vinh city, the vast majority of voters agreed with the plan to merge wards in Vinh city.
Accordingly, the plan to expand the administrative boundaries and urban space of Vinh city is to merge the entire natural area and existing population size of Cua Lo town; adjust the entire natural area and existing population size of 4 communes: Nghi Xuan, Phuc Tho, Nghi Thai, Nghi Phong of Nghi Loc district to Vinh city for management.

After expanding Vinh City will have 166.25km2natural area, population of more than 568,700 people with a scale of 33 administrative units of wards and communes.
Currently, localities in Vinh City that are subject to merger and establishment of wards are collecting voters' opinions to submit to the city.
Accordingly, Vinh City will establish Vinh Tan ward on the basis of merging the entire Hong Son and Vinh Tan wards. Establish Quang Trung ward on the basis of merging the entire Quang Trung, Doi Cung and Le Mao wards.
Mr. Nguyen Dinh Thanh - Chairman of Vinh Tan Ward People's Committee said: After having the policy of collecting voters' opinions, the Party Committee, the government, the Fatherland Front and socio-political organizations of Vinh Tan Ward have deployed propaganda and mobilization so that cadres, party members, union members, association members and people can correctly understand the policy of arranging and merging administrative units, creating high consensus and unanimity.

The Ward People's Committee issued Decisions to establish 14 Working Groups to collect opinions from 14 residential blocks consisting of 210 members, the block with the most members being 24 members (Phuc Loc block), the block with the least members being 9 members (Phuc Thinh block). The Group Leaders and Group Members are the Party Cell Secretaries, Block Leaders, Heads of the Front Work Committee; Heads of the Associations and Youth Unions; Group Leaders of Residential Groups, Civil Protection, representatives of the Management Boards (Management Boards) of apartment buildings (for blocks with residential buildings)...
The ward organized to collect opinions from 11,612/11,612 voters in the area, reaching a rate of 100%, of which, the number of voters agreeing with the merger plan was 11,555 voters, reaching a rate of 99.08%.

Similarly, the voting results have been released in the wards subject to merger.
In Quang Trung ward, the total number of voters who voted was 5,434/5,448, reaching 99.7%, of which, the number of voters who agreed with the merger plan was 5,404 voters, reaching 99.4%.
In Hong Son ward, the total number of voters polled was 3,770/3,774, reaching 99.89%. Of which, the number of voters agreeing with the merger plan was 3,495 voters, reaching 92.61%.
In Le Mao ward, the total number of voters who voted was 5,450/5,450, reaching 100%. Of which, the number of voters who agreed with the merger plan was 5,338, reaching 97.85%.
In Doi Cung ward, the total number of voters polled was 5,678/5,678, reaching 100%. Of which, the number of voters agreeing with the merger plan was 5,615 voters, reaching 98.89%.
Besides collecting opinions, voters also had a number of recommendations and proposals for the city after the merger.
Voters of Doi Cung ward hope that after the merger, the authorities will not collect fees during the document editing process.
Voters of Le Mao ward also hope that the State will soon pay attention and create favorable conditions for people to change information in related documents. Besides, currently, Le Mao ward headquarters is the largest and most spacious among the three ward people's committee headquarters, so people want to use the headquarters in Le Mao ward as the transaction headquarters of the new ward.

In addition to the 5 merged wards mentioned above, the city also organized to collect opinions from 4 communes that will be established into wards including: Hung Dong commune, Hung Loc commune, Nghi Phu commune and Nghi Duc commune.
The voting results showed that the vast majority of people in these communes agreed with the plan to establish wards with a high percentage of votes (over 90%). Voters’ suggestions and recommendations revolved around upgrading infrastructure, roads, etc. to match the new ward name.
