World gold prices plummet.
Today (May 1st), domestic gold prices remained stable at 83 million VND/ounce, while world gold prices plummeted, falling below the 2,300 USD/ounce mark.
As of 5:00 AM on May 1st, the gold prices on the exchanges of several companies were as follows:
DOJI lists the price of 9999 gold at 82.60 million VND/ounce for buying and 84.80 million VND/ounce for selling.

At Bao Tin Minh Chau Co., Ltd., the price of SJC gold is also being traded at 83.25 - 85.10 million VND/ounce (buying price - selling price). Meanwhile, at Bao Tin Manh Hai, it is being traded at 83.25 - 85.35 million VND/ounce (buying price - selling price).
According to Kitco, the spot price of gold in the world market at 5:00 AM Vietnam time today was $2,285.50 per ounce, down $48.8 per ounce compared to yesterday's price. Converted using the current exchange rate at Vietcombank, the world gold price is approximately VND 68.888 million per tael (excluding taxes and fees). Therefore, the price of SJC gold bars remains VND 14.112 million per tael higher than the international gold price.

The USD exchange rate remained stable on May 1st, while the global USD unexpectedly surged back to the 106-point mark, supported by positive economic data.
The central exchange rate of VND/USD, announced by the State Bank of Vietnam, has been adjusted to 24,246 VND/USD, a decrease of 18 dong compared to the trading session on April 26th.
Currently, the permitted exchange rate for commercial banks ranges from 23,400 to 25,450 VND/USD. The US dollar exchange rate has also been brought within the buying and selling range of 23,400 to 25,450 VND/USD by the State Bank of Vietnam's Exchange Department.
This morning, the USD exchange rate and domestic foreign exchange rates saw a series of downward adjustments at various banks. Specifically, Vietcombank's buying rate was 25,088 and the selling rate was 25,458, a decrease of 49 dong compared to the trading session on April 26th. The current buying and selling prices of USD are in the range of 24,000 - 25,500 VND/USD.

At Agribank, the Japanese Yen exchange rate for buying and selling is 158.99 VND/JPY and 166.91 VND/JPY.
At Eximbank, the exchange rates are 159.33 VND/JPY and 164.08 VND/JPY respectively. At Techcombank, the rates are 155.08 VND/JPY and 167.56 VND/JPY. At Sacombank, the rates are 159.97 VND/JPY and 164.98 VND/JPY.
According to the survey, Sacombank has the highest buying rate for the Japanese Yen today, while Eximbank has the lowest selling rate among all banks.
