Do Luong determined to regain position at the 2024 Nghe An Newspaper Cup Youth - Children Football Tournament
(Baonghean.vn) - Although the locality with the most tradition in the Youth - Children's Football Tournament of Nghe An Newspaper Cup, in last year's season, the achievements of Do Luong district's football teams were not as expected. Therefore, entering this year's season, the Luong teams showed their determination to regain their position.
Like many rural areas of Nghe An, Do Luong is known as a land that nurtures a passionate love of football among the people and the mass football movement has also developed very strongly. Up to now, this place has produced many excellent male players of Vietnamese football such as Nguyen Quang Tinh, Tran Nguyen Manh, Dang Van Lam... and also female players such as Thai Thi Thao, Vu Thi Hoa.
With the Youth - Children's Football Tournament of Nghe An Newspaper Cup, Do Luong can be considered the locality with the most tradition in the tournament. In the Youth age group, Do Luong was crowned Champion in 2003, 2004, 2005, 2007, 2012, 2013, 2022. In the Children age group, Do Luong has also won the championship 8 times, most recently in the 2016 season.
However, 2023 was considered a disappointing season for Do Luong youth football, when both teams could not advance far into the tournament. Although Do Luong Youth Team was the defending champion at that time, it was eliminated right after the group stage, while the Children's team also stopped in the quarterfinals.
Therefore, entering this year's season, Do Luong district football teams are all determined to regain their position.

Therefore, the coaches have made efforts to search in localities and schools with good football movements to gather, form teams and have a training plan according to a methodical and strict schedule."
The advantage for Do Luong district is that the school football movement in the district is strongly developing, especially with the amateur football talent classes of Song Lam Nghe An Club opened here, many players are trained systematically so finding personnel for the teams is not really difficult. Besides, not only in Do Luong town but also in neighboring communes, there is a system of artificial turf fields, serving well for the training of players.

In order to prepare well for the 2024 Nghe An Newspaper Cup Youth - Children Football Tournament, from the beginning of May 2024, the Do Luong District Culture - Information and Communication Center has basically completed the personnel work. The district has issued a decision to establish a team to participate in the 26th Nghe An Newspaper Cup Youth - Children Football Tournament in 2024 with 7 officials, coaches, caregivers and 26 players in both Youth and Children teams.
In particular, the Children's Team is selected from the U10 training class organized by Song Lam Nghe An Club in the district. The Youth Team mainly selects players from Children's teams with qualities and abilities in previous seasons, along with some outstanding players discovered through grassroots tournaments in the district.
To achieve the best results, since the beginning of May, the district has basically selected the best players for both teams and on average, 3 times a week, the young players are present at the artificial turf field of Dang Son commune to participate in training.
Because students had a late summer vacation this year, the teams had to practice flexibly during the week. The children's players had a hard time due to final exams... but the young players and their parents actively took the time to bring their children to the practice field on time.
On the training ground, with passion, the young athletes are still absorbed in technical and tactical exercises, under the enthusiastic instruction of two coaches Tran Van Son and Thai Manh Ha - dedicated sports officers, passionate about their profession, with a lot of experience in leading young football teams. During the training process, the coaches not only focus on training the athletes' physical strength and technical tactics, but also pay special attention to training their sense of discipline and manners.
Coach Tran Van Son - Head of Do Luong Children's Team said: "Towards the 2024 Nghe An Newspaper Cup Youth - Children's Football Tournament, the District Culture - Sports and Communication Center has developed an early and specific training plan, carefully preparing the field as well as other conditions to create favorable conditions for the players to participate in training. The coaching staff always tries to find the best solution for the players to be trained systematically, focusing on exercises to improve physical strength and tactics in competition".
The desire to express themselves and the determination to win medals are clearly visible in the young players of Luong before this year's season.
