The Southeast Economic Zone Trade Union launched 10 grassroots trade unions with more than 2,200 union members.
(Baonghean.vn) - After 2 months of efforts to mobilize and propagate, the Southeast Economic Zone Trade Union has established 10 new grassroots trade unions, with 2,247 union members.
On the morning of May 17, the Trade Union of the Southeast Nghe An Economic Zone organized the launching ceremony of the grassroots trade union in May and a specialized training course for grassroots trade union officials.
Attending the ceremony were comrade Kha Van Tam - Member of the Provincial Party Executive Committee, Chairman of the Provincial Labor Federation. Also attending were representatives of departments and branches; Trade union officials and representatives of the leaders of 10 newly established grassroots trade union units; 20Worker, workers in difficult circumstances and grassroots union officials under the Southeast Economic Zone Union.
Identifying the work of developing union members and establishing grassroots unions as vital tasks, the Trade Union of the Southeast Nghe An Economic Zone has made efforts to achieve the set targets. Accordingly, the unit issued a plan early and organized the launching ceremony of Workers' Month from the end of March and especially emphasized and paid attention to implementing the work of developing union members and establishing grassroots unions during the peak period of Workers' Month in 2024.
Over the past 2 months, the Southeast Economic Zone Trade Union has made efforts to innovate and diversify the ways of mobilizing workers and employers to participate in the Vietnam Trade Union. The unit has organized more than 20 meetings with business leaders to grasp the production and business situation, difficulties and problems of businesses, the thoughts and aspirations of workers, monitor the implementation of labor laws and provide legal support to businesses, propagate, provide legal advice, organize policy dialogues for workers, etc.
The launching ceremony of the "May grassroots trade union" with 10 grassroots trade unions and 2,247 union members is a positive result of those efforts, and is also a meaningful and practical activity to celebrate the 134th birthday of President Ho Chi Minh.

Speaking at the launching ceremony, Ms. Hoang Thi Thu Huong - Chairwoman of the Southeast Economic Zone Trade Union thanked the board of directors of enterprises for their attention and response to the legitimate wishes and needs of workers regarding employment.establish a trade union, with goodwill, actively cooperated with the Trade Union of the Southeast Economic Zone to establish 10 grassroots trade unions in the past 2 months. At the same time, the Chairman of the Trade Union of the Southeast Economic Zone hopes that businesses will continue to pay attention and create favorable conditions for grassroots trade unions to operate effectively.
The leaders of the Southeast Economic Zone Trade Union also congratulated and hoped that the new Executive Committee members of the 10 newly established grassroots trade unions would promote their prestige, enthusiasm, dedication, closely follow the instructions of the higher-level trade unions, and organize trade union activities well. In particular, the most important thing to focus on is taking care of the lives, representing and protecting the legitimate and legal rights and interests of workers and laborers, worthy of the trust and expectations of union members, laborers and business leaders.
Attending the event, representatives of business leaders and workers of 10 newly established grassroots unions gave heartfelt speeches, expressing their joy and confidence in participating in the Vietnam Trade Union organization.
On this occasion, the Executive Committee of the Trade Union of the Southeast Nghe An Economic Zone also awarded Certificates of Merit to 5 grassroots trade unions with high achievements in developing union members and establishing grassroots trade unions in the period 2023-2024.
On the occasion of Workers' Month, from the operating budget, the Dong Nam Economic Zone Trade Union decided to support and express gratitude to 132 workers and laborers who overcame difficulties to complete their tasks well with a total amount of 92.4 million VND. At the event, the organizing committee presented 20 gifts to 20 workers.
Also on the morning of May 17, the UnionSoutheast Economic ZoneOrganized the contest "Learning about the Resolution of the Vietnam Trade Union Congress" and trained on the topic "Grassroots trade unions and occupational safety and hygiene" for affiliated grassroots trade unions.
