The 6th Congress of the Nghe An Provincial Union of Friendship Organizations will be held in June 2024.
(BNA) - On the morning of May 28, the Nghe An Provincial Union of Friendship Organizations held the 10th Executive Committee Meeting (expanded) on preparations for the 6th Congress of Delegates for the 2024-2029 term.
Comrade Nguyen Van Thong - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial Union of Friendship Organizations chaired the conference.
As planned, the 6th Congress of the Union of Friendship Organizations of Nghe An province, term 2024 - 2029, will take place at the end of June 2024.
Giving opinions on the draft Political Report and Review Report of the Executive Committee of the Union of Friendship Organizations of Nghe An province, term V, to be submitted to the 6th Congress, term 2024-2029, the delegates' opinions basically agreed with the content of the Political Report.
Regarding the orientation and tasks of the 6th term, 2024-2029 term, the Drafting Subcommittee has concretized them into 7 specific tasks in accordance with the practical people's foreign affairs activities of the Provincial Union of Friendship Organizations and its member organizations. Thus, compared to the 4th and 5th terms, the 6th term has added 2 programs, which are the work of mobilizing overseas Vietnamese and Volunteer work.
In the task orientation section, the Drafting Subcommittee also proposed that in the 6th term, it is necessary to research and develop a Project to establish a Liaison Committee for relatives of Nghe An people living abroad.
Commenting on this content, delegates suggested that the direction and tasks section should propose more specific solutions and lessons learned should be more strategic.
Some opinions suggest that the Provincial Union of Friendship Organizations should implement the Project to establish a Liaison Committee for Nghe An relatives abroad. If this Liaison Committee is established, it will be the focal point of the Union to help better connect families in Nghe An with relatives abroad, supporting them to connect with their families and homeland.
Regarding the review report of the Executive Committee of the Provincial Union of Friendship Organizations, term V, 2019-2024, it is necessary to write more concisely and clarify the role of the Executive Committee in directing and leading the organization of people's foreign affairs activities and the responsibilities of the comrades in the Standing Committee of the Union.
Commenting on the draft Regulations on the organization and operation of the Union of Friendship Organizations of Nghe An province, term VI, 2024-2029, delegates said that the promulgation of the regulations on operation should be based on the functions, tasks, documents and related documents, and at the same time, it is necessary to develop a charter that closely follows the practical situation of the locality.
At the same time, delegates also proposed to supplement the responsibilities and powers of the Chairman and Vice Chairmen of the Provincial Union of Friendship Organizations.
Delegates proposed that the Provincial Union of Friendship Organizations should organize exchanges between Nghe An enterprises and foreign enterprises. Thereby, strengthening cooperation with enterprises, connecting culture, and developing the economy.
The delegates' opinions also stated that member organizations need to select and introduce delegates to join the Executive Committee of the Nghe An Provincial Union of Friendship Organizations for the 2024-2029 term. They must be people with high spirit and responsibility, participating in activities to improve the quality of activities of each member organization and the Provincial Union of Friendship Organizations.
Concluding the conference, comrade Nguyen Van Thong - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Union proposed that based on the comments of the members, immediately after the conference, the Standing Department of the Office of the Provincial Union of Friendship Organizations continue to supplement, revise and complete the reports and documents to complete and seek comments from the comrades in the Executive Committee of the 5th term Union and member organizations of the Union.
At the same time, review once again to fully prepare the necessary conditions for the Congress to take place in a methodical, lawful, democratic and quality-assured manner. Focus on completing reports, contents, especially the personnel plan to seek opinions from relevant agencies and the Provincial Party Standing Committee. Study and refer to the charter of the Central Association to complete the operating regulations of the next Executive Committee.
