Mrs. Hoang Thi Loan was born in the year of Mau Thin (1868) in Hoang Tru village, Chung Cu commune, Lam Thinh canton, Nam Dan district (now Tru 3 hamlet, Kim Lien commune, Nam Dan district), in a family of studious Confucian scholars. Since childhood, she was cared for and taught by her father Hoang Xuan Duong and mother Nguyen Thi Kep. She was deeply influenced by the following characteristics: Loving people, being benevolent, valuing loyalty; inheriting and promoting the good traditions of two clans, two paternal and maternal families. She was a diligent learner, equipping herself with a profound cultural background. She was familiar with the Tale of Kieu, remembered many historical anecdotes, and knew many folk songs of Nghe Tinh.
When she was in her teens, Mrs. Hoang Thi Loan was a country girl, diligent, hard-working, and very capable. Her singing voice left a deep impression, stirring the heart of the Confucian scholar Nguyen Sinh Sac. Secret love, loving hearts beating in unison, bound the two together into a loving couple.
Faced with the passionate love of his two sons, Mr. Hoang Xuan Duong, a progressive thinker who overcame feudal etiquette, chose an auspicious day and month to hold a wedding ceremony for the two.

Under the small, simple thatched roof, Ms. Hoang Thi Loan gave birth to three patriotic children:

To help her husband with his studies, in 1895, she and her husband and two children traveled a thousand miles to the capital Hue.
In Hue, Mrs. Hoang Thi Loan had to struggle with everyday life, making a living by weaving, building a happy family.
In the year of Canh Ty (1900), Mrs. Hoang Thi Loan gave birth to another son, Nguyen Sinh Xin, in difficult circumstances and while her husband was supervising the regional examination in Thanh Hoa province.
