On June 5, the police agency has just fought to eradicate a gambling organization and gambling in the form of online football betting, arrested 12 subjects, seized many documents and related evidence...

This is a large-scale football betting ring, operating in a complex manner with many sophisticated tricks, led by Vu Dinh Hieu (born in 1990), in Quang Cu ward, Sam Son city, Thanh Hoa province.

According to the police, to organize this network, around February 2024, Hieu, Nguyen Huu Tung (born in 1996), in Quang Cu ward, Sam Son city and Nguyen Viet Anh (born in 2001), in alley 101, Nguyen Du street, Sam Son city colluded with each other to buy an online gambling account. After that, the subjects assigned Nguyen Viet Anh to directly manage and cut it into small accounts for gamblers to gamble directly; every day, the "gamblers" were responsible for paying, summarizing wins and losses and reporting to Hieu.

The investigation agency determined that, during the process of managing and operating the line, Nguyen Viet Anh had divided it into many small accounts and provided them to gamblers with limits ranging from $150 to $2,000 (each dollar is equivalent to 100,000 VND) for players to use for gambling. The subjects participating in this form of football betting were all gamblers in Sam Son city and Thanh Hoa city.

By using the trick of cutting pages and dividing them into many small accounts, from the beginning of 2024 until his arrest, the gambling organization led by Vu Dinh Hieu attracted many gamblers to participate in football betting in many football tournaments in the English Premier League, Germany, Italy, Spain and the Champions League...

Most gamblers bet from 10 million to 50 million VND/match, including gamblers betting up to more than 92 million VND/match. Initially, the police determined that the subjects transacted about 1 billion VND/week.

Currently, Thanh Hoa Provincial Police are continuing to investigate and handle the case according to the provisions of law.
