Quynh Luu fines 8 fishing boats for VMS journey disconnection error

After consolidating the records, the People's Committee of Quynh Luu district fined 8 ship owners and captains for losing connection to the VMS route while fishing.

Specifically, on June 12, the Chairman of the People's Committee of Quynh Luu district issued decisions to impose administrative penalties on 6 ship owners/captains, including: Mr. Tran Ngoc Bien, ship with license plate NA-96588-TS in Quynh Long commune; Mr. Pham Huu Luu, ship with license plate NA-90313-TS residing in Quynh Nghia commune; ship owners including: Mr. Cao Van Thoi, ship with license plate NA-90203-TS; Mr. Nguyen Van Chung, ship with license plate NA-98568-TS; Tran Van Hai, ship with license plate NA-93022-TS; Mr. Tran Cao Thu, fishing boat with license plate NA-90153-TS, all residing in Son Hai commune (Quynh Luu).

Ship owners/captains were fined for not complying with regulations in case the VMS monitoring device of fishing vessels was damaged according to the provisions of Point c, Clause 2, Article 35, Decree No. 42/2019/ND-CP of the Government on administrative sanctions in the field of fisheries. Each ship was fined 22.5 million VND.

In addition to the 6 ship owners/captains above, previously in April 2024, the People's Committee of Quynh Luu district verified and fined 2 ship owners for failing to maintain VMS journey monitoring equipment during operations at sea for fishing vessels with a length of 15 m or more.

That is the fishing boat of Mr. Dau Thanh Tam, residing in An Hoa commune, license plate NA-90411-TS, was fined 25 million VND and had his captain's certificate revoked for 4 and a half months; the boat of Mr. Dong Van Dung, residing in Son Hai commune, license plate 95027-TS, was fined 22.5 million VND and had his captain's certificate revoked for 3 and a half months.

Along with the verification and sanction results of the Quynh Thuan Border Guard Station, during the coastal inspection in early June, the provincial interdisciplinary team advised the Chief Inspector of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development to sanction 2 ship owners, with a total fine of 3 million VND for 2 fishing boats of Mr. Nguyen Van Thanh and Mr. Nguyen Van Lieu residing in Hai Chau ward and Hai Thanh ward, Nghi Son town (Thanh Hoa) who went to the coastal waters of Nghe An to fish but had a violation of marking fishing boats in violation of regulations for boats with a maximum length of 12 to under 15 m. These are Nghe An's efforts in the "war" to remove the yellow card for aquatic products.
