Inauguration of the Memorial Site for Poet and Musician Nguyen Trong Tao in his hometown Nghe An
On the evening of June 12, in Dien Hoa commune, Dien Chau district, the inauguration ceremony of the Memorial Area for poet and musician Nguyen Trong Tao and the art program "Nguyen Trong Tao - Realm of Memories" took place.
Attending the program were comrades: Le Doan Hop - former member of the Party Central Committee, former Minister of Information and Communications, Chairman of the Nghe An Association in Hanoi; Nguyen The Ky - former member of the Party Central Committee, former Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda Department, former General Director of the Voice of Vietnam, Chairman of the Central Council for Theory and Criticism of Literature and Arts; Hoang Nghia Hieu - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; leaders of departments and branches; many relatives, friends of artists near and far, and local people.

Nhiều bạn hữu cũng giãi bày những kỷ niệm đáng nhớ về Nguyễn Trọng Tạo - người đa tài, có tình yêu sâu nặng với quê hương và trọn đời sống vì nghệ thuật.
Trong khuôn khổ chương trình, các đại biểu đã cùng tham quan Khu tưởng niệm nhà thơ, nhạc sĩ Nguyễn Trọng Tạo. Khu tưởng niệm được khởi công xây dựng từ tháng 7/2022 ngay tại nơi ông sinh ra và lớn lên, do chính con trai ông là Kiến trúc sư, Tiến sĩ Nguyễn Vũ Trọng Thi thiết kế, lấy ý tưởng từ trong các sáng tác của ông và đặc trưng 3 vùng đất mà ông từng sống: Huế, Nghệ An và Hà Nội.
Những hình ảnh quen thuộc trong thơ ca Nguyễn Trọng Tạo như dòng sông, con đò, đôi mắt, vầng trăng, nốt nhạc… được cách điệu; hàm chứa tình cảm thiết tha với quê hương, đất nước và sự tân thời, hội nhập trong phong cách nghệ thuật của nhà thơ, nhạc sĩ tài hoa.
Nhà thơ, nhạc sĩ Nguyễn Trọng Tạo sinh ngày 25/8/1947 trong một gia đình nho học ở làng Trường Khê (nay là Diễn Hoa), huyện Diễn Châu, tỉnh Nghệ An. Ông là người đa tài, sớm bộc lộ tài năng thiên bẩm trong các lĩnh vực nghệ thuật: sáng tác bài thơ đầu tiên năm 14 tuổi, sáng tác bài hát đầu tiên năm 20 tuổi và xuất bản tập thơ đầu tiên vào năm 27 tuổi.
Nguyễn Trọng Tạo còn là một người lính, nhập ngũ năm 1969. Từ bộ đội, ông đi học Trường Viết văn Nguyễn Du, trải qua nhiều vị trí công tác ở Nhà văn hóa Quân Khu 4, Hội VHNT Thừa Thiên Huế, Hội Nhạc sỹ Việt Nam… Trong suốt sự nghiệp của mình, nhà thơ, nhạc sĩ Nguyễn Trọng Tạo xuất bản hơn 20 đầu sách gồm thơ, văn, nhạc, phê bình tiểu luận và đoạt nhiều giải thưởng cao quý, trong đó có Giải thưởng Nhà nước về văn học, nghệ thuật.

Nguyen Trong Tao has lived a full life for art. At the end of 2017, he suffered a stroke. After the serious illness, Nguyen Trong Tao seemed to have more creative emotions. In August 2018, he organized the poetry and music night "Song Que Song" in Vinh City, Nghe An Province - the first and only live show he organized in his hometown.
At the event, he confided to a large audience in his hometown, saying that he thought he was going to die, but then, miraculously, he felt life awakening inside him. That was perhaps the greatest luck of his life, and he believed that his luck was partly thanks to his “motherland” Nghe An. Bringing the music night to Vinh was also partly his deep gratitude to his homeland.
On January 7, 2019, he passed away due to a serious illness at the age of 72. The “man who came out of folk songs”, the “musician of the Vietnamese countryside” is no longer here, but the artistic legacy he left behind will forever remain in the hearts of many generations of the public. Therefore, the Memorial Area for Poet and Musician Nguyen Trong Tao is a meaningful project, not only realizing the wishes of him and his family, but also meeting the expectations of many friends, artists and fans.
