Provincial Party Secretary Thai Thanh Quy meets with Nghe An compatriots in Germany

On June 15 (local time), in Berlin, the provincial delegation had a warm, friendly and meaningful meeting with the Nghe An Association in Germany.

The delegation was led by Comrade Thai Thanh Quy - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation.

The working delegation included comrades: Le Duc Cuong - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Head of the Provincial Party Organization Committee; Major General Bui Quang Thanh - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Director of the Provincial Police; Nguyen Nhu Khoi - Member of the Provincial Party Executive Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Bui Dinh Long - Member of the Provincial Party Executive Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Directors of the departments: Planning and Investment, Finance, Transport, Agriculture and Rural Development, Foreign Affairs.

The delegation was received by Mr. Tran Van Dung - Chairman of the Association and members of the Standing Committee, Executive Committee, and many overseas Vietnamese in the Nghe An Association in Germany.

Established on April 11, 2010 in Berlin, up to now, after 14 years, the Nghe An Association in Germany has grown strongly in both the number of members as well as the quality of activities; it is a common home for the people of Nghe An homeland.

Expressing great joy at attending the meeting with the children of Nghe An homeland in Germany, on behalf of the provincial leaders, the working delegation and with personal feelings, Provincial Party Secretary Thai Thanh Quy sent to the people his respectful greetings, sincere greetings and best wishes.

The head of Nghe An Provincial Party Committee shared that the two words “homeland” are always sacred to every Vietnamese person and for Nghe An people living far from their homeland, far from their country, perhaps that feeling is even deeper, more passionate, and affectionate. And the most effective connection between those living far from their homeland, far from their country is probably the Association of Fellow Countrymen.

Therefore, it is even more joyful and exciting when the Nghe An Association in Germany is evaluated as one of the Nghe An associations abroad that operates effectively and develops strongly, creating a "Common Home" filled with the warmth of fellow countrymen.

In particular, the association also carries out one of its most noble missions, which is to preserve, maintain, pass on the torch, and promote the fine traditional values ​​of Vietnam and Nghe An to the second and third generations, creating a bond for children and grandchildren to turn to their roots, homeland, and country.

The Association has called for, mobilized, and donated money and goods worth tens of thousands of Euros to share and support the homeland, contributing to the development of the province, especially being present very promptly, especially during times of natural disasters, calamities, and epidemics...

"People in the hometown expressed their deep affection and gratitude for those noble gestures," the Provincial Party Secretary shared.

Along with that, the Nghe An Association in Germany is also a bridge to introduce businesses and local authorities to learn about and invest in many localities in the province such as Nghi Loc, Quynh Luu, Hoang Mai; help agencies and units of the province connect to do business and support the province's working delegations to work in Germany, as well as Europe.

With their success and prosperity, every year many people in the Federal Republic of Germany send a very important amount of remittances back home, contributing to promoting socio-economic development and building new rural areas. According to preliminary statistics, remittances to Nghe An are about 500 million USD annually, part of which is from the Federal Republic of Germany, creating a huge value for the development of the homeland.

On this occasion, on behalf of the provincial leaders, Provincial Party Secretary Thai Thanh Quy respectfully thanks and expresses gratitude for the hearts, feelings and very effective contributions of the Association of fellow countrymen in general and Nghe An people living in the Federal Republic of Germany for their homeland in the past time.

On this occasion, Provincial Party Secretary Thai Thanh Quy informed overseas Vietnamese about the economic and social situation, national defense and security, and development strategies and orientations of the province.

Based on the association's proposal, Provincial Party Secretary Thai Thanh Quy agreed in terms of viewpoints that the province would connect and coordinate with the Nghe An Association in Germany to organize the meaningful celebration of the 135th birthday of President Ho Chi Minh (May 19, 1890 - May 19, 2025) in Berlin; at the same time, he suggested that the association invite more delegates from the Nghe An Association in European countries.

Provincial Party Secretary Thai Thanh Quy said that after the working trip, he will propose to the Provincial People's Committee and the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee to consider rewarding collectives and individuals of the Association who have made timely contributions, affection, and sharing with their homeland, especially during the recent Covid-19 pandemic.

“I wish the Nghe An Association in Germany to develop more and more, to be a common home for Nghe An people far from their homeland to share, care for, love, develop and preserve the good traditions of their homeland, Vietnam, and Nghe An for the second and third generations; to arouse the connection between the children and their roots, their homeland and their country”, the Provincial Party Secretary sent.

On behalf of the Nghe An compatriots, Mr. Tran Van Dung - Chairman of the Nghe An Association in Germany respectfully thanked the provincial leaders for supporting the association's two proposals; especially in coordinating the organization of the 135th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birthday.

Expressing his joy at the province's developments, Mr. Tran Van Dung believes that the province will continue to develop and the lives of people in the province, especially in mountainous areas, will continue to be improved.

He also discussed the living conditions, production and business activities of overseas Vietnamese in Germany. Accordingly, the Covid-19 pandemic has left very serious consequences, but with the spirit of solidarity, diligence, high courage, and sensitivity, in difficulty there is wisdom, in danger there is opportunity, the Nghe An community in Germany has recovered quite quickly and successfully rebuilt.

In discussions with provincial leaders, Nghe An expatriates in Germany affirmed that they will continue to promote the spirit of solidarity, build a sustainable development association; at the same time, organize many practical activities and be more closely connected with their homeland; continue to support, accompany, share feelings, and contribute to the development of their homeland and country.
