Nghe An Provincial Party Secretary Thai Thanh Quy successfully concludes his working trip to Europe

Early in the morning of June 19, comrade Thai Thanh Quy - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation, and the high-ranking delegation of Nghe An province returned to Hanoi, successfully concluding a working trip to Europe from June 8.

This working trip is one of the province's important foreign affairs activities in 2024 to strengthen cooperation between Nghe An province and European partners; at the same time, promote economic diplomacy activities and attract investment in Nghe An province.

The delegation had a busy schedule with 16 activities in 3 countries: the Netherlands, the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland (UK) and the Federal Republic of Germany.

The trip connected economic partners in the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, and the Federal Republic of Germany, opening up opportunities for cooperation in the coming period. Accordingly, the delegation worked with AkzoNobel Netherlands - one of the world's leading manufacturers of performance paints and coatings for industry; West London Chamber of Commerce (UK) and the German Business Association in the Asia-Pacific region.

At the meetings, the provincial leaders discussed and introduced the province's potentials, preferential policies, and investment attraction to partners; thereby agreeing to strengthen cooperation to promote investment in Nghe An. In the immediate future, in 2025, it is expected that a delegation of the German Business Association in the Asia-Pacific region will visit and work in the province.

One of the important activities of the working trip was to gain experience in investment models, management, and operations of cargo ports. Through surveys and working sessions at two leading European ports: Rotterdam Port (Netherlands) - the largest general port in Europe and Hamburg Port - the largest port in Germany, the second busiest in Europe (after Rotterdam Port) in terms of container throughput, and the 11th largest in the world, the delegation gained a lot of useful information to serve the development of deep-water seaports in Nghe An.

The delegation visited the vocational training school, worked with the Erfurt city government and the Erfurt Craft Industry Chamber (CRAFTS), Thuringia state, Federal Republic of Germany; thereby opening up a cooperative relationship in the fields of vocational training, culture, tourism and economy between the two sides; including cooperation between the two cities: Erfurt (Thüringia state) and Vinh (Nghe An province).

During the program, the delegation visited and worked in the town of Newhaven, Lewes district, East Sussex county, United Kingdom - the first destination of the patriotic young man Nguyen Tat Thanh when he arrived in the UK. From here, President Ho Chi Minh began his 4-year association with the UK (1913 - 1917); worked with the leaders of the Communist Party of Great Britain, with the Vietnamese Embassy in the Netherlands, the UK, and the Federal Republic of Germany; met and brought warm feelings from his homeland to Nghe An expatriates in the Federal Republic of Germany.
