Cong Vinh speaks out regarding divorce rumors with Thuy Tien.
Công Vinh revealed that he and Thủy Tiên were "lectured" for quite a long time by both sets of parents after news broke about their divorce.
On the afternoon of June 21st, Cong Vinh posted a picture of himself and Thuy Tien affectionately posing for a commemorative photo. The former football star also shared a short status update denying rumors of marital problems between him and his wife.
Cong Vinh stated that he and Thuy Tien were completely unconcerned about the divorce rumors, but the matter worried both sets of parents, who called to "lecture" the couple.
He wrote:"The couple made a mistake and rumors of their divorce spread."Yesterday, both sets of parents called and lectured the couple for a long time about marital duties. The couple were bewildered and didn't understand what they meant. The father even came to their house to lecture them. It turned out that the grandparents had read some tabloid news online and suspected the couple was getting divorced.
Below the post, many friends and relatives expressed their agreement with Cong Vinh speaking out about rumors of his marriage breakdown. They also advised the former football star to ignore the baseless rumors. However, Cong Vinh frankly stated that he had to speak out so that both sets of parents wouldn't worry."I was going to ignore it, but then I saw how much both sets of parents were suffering."
Cong Vinh and Thuy Tien met during a magazine photoshoot. They began dating in 2008. When they went public with their relationship, they faced considerable criticism because, at the time, Thuy Tien was considered a controversial singer who could negatively impact Cong Vinh's career.
